I am new to the program and I am really pumped about getting my workout routine started. I am in average shape for my age and I want to improve my shape. I noticed most guys body shave or shave at least their chest. I wanted to get some feedback on the pros of doing this. It seems like a real motivator. Not sure want my wife and friends will think however I really don't care what my friends think. Also is waxing preferred. Thanks for the feedback.

Uhhhh.... good luck with that. I may do a bit of grooming but flat out shaving isn't my thing; it's too much trouble to maintain for me. I'm going for that Hugh Jackman Wolverine, rugged masculine look. It's low maintenance and allows me to take a stand for hairy men everywhere. I'm bringing hairy back!
"I was laying in bed one night and I thought Ill just quit to hell with it. And another little voice inside me said Dont quit save that tiny little ember of spark. And never give them that spark because as long as you have that spark, you can start the greatest fire again.

A long time ago I tried to shave my chest. I was in my early twenties and it was growing in a weird pattern and annoyed the crap out of me. It was pretty sweet for about a day or two. Then it started growing back in. It itched like hell and my girlfriend complained about the stubble.
So then I tried nair. That would have been great save the fact that I have super sensitive skin and basically got chemical burns (despite leaving it on for the least amount of recommended time).
The guys who seriously compete just laser it off (costs somewhere around $2k I think). When I get to the point where I am going shirtless again I will probably just trim it back with clippers.Peace is a lie, there is only passion.
Through passion, I gain strength.
Through strength, I gain power.
Through power, I gain victory.
Through victory, my chains are broken.
The Force shall free me.

Okay... to answer the question seriously, I trimmed my entire body down to this...
...using a Conair electric clipper like this on setting 1 (which is the closest setting).
It wasn't a completely smooth shave, but since I am not the hairiest guy on the planet, it didn't need to be. I got no razor bumps or ingrown hairs from the deal. You just need to be careful not to nip your skin in the various joints...

many methods being described
for the electric clippers - best method is side to side - side to side
for the chemical stuff application is best done in an up and down manner - up, down, up, down
and finally for those who are not aware
the last method is simply
wax on,wax off☻/

Funny you posted this thread. I just shaved my chest / stomach for the first time since i was about 22 years old. It took me about an hour to get it done and it totally made me look fatter! LOL. Man what a white boy under there too. The first day or two wasn't bad but now, a week later i have gotten pimples. I NEVER have pimples and now i have them on my chest. Hopefully when i get some sun on it they will start to go away. If not, the hair will be back...
Pain is just weakness leaving the body!
People who say it can't be done should not interrupt those who are doing it

Since I'm doing my first competition in a few weeks I need to shave, well, I've never shaved my legs or arms in 37yrs so wanted to make sure I had a head start and did show up at the contest with bumps all over me.
It went well, trimmed down with clippers then shaved, definitely shows off the muscle tone better.Dave
