My crazy experiments lol. I don't know what I'm doing ... just fumbling around on the assumption that as long as I show up and work hard at multiple things that I am really bad at, then it'll turn out ok somehow

k, it's the best. you and laura both approach lifting by listening to your own bodies, which is a radical (why is it so radical? i dont know. more should do it) approach and i really like it.

Really nice on the front squat PR! Those are so difficult and zero in on exactly they area that you say you have trouble with in your squat-squat, no doubt they will carry over nicely.

And all the doubles with 135... Is that weight looking like opener territory for you now? You're kicking butt, Geek!

    Thanks for that
i think my coach was more excited about my front squat PR's than i was. to him, it's a real indication of how much progress i've made. when i started working with him, i could hardly front squat 105.

i don't know what my opener should be! i've been thinking about it. it seems so scary to open with 135. for your second bench, would you do a number you'd only done once before? i would love 135, 145, 150., but it seems too much like dreaming.

i think tomorrow, we are going to try and figure out opener and second for my squat.

thanks, k. i am trying to get used to the idea of me being on the internets without controlling who gets to see it. eep!

squats (deciding on 1,2,3 for the meet)
    stretching
    barx5
    95x5
    115x5
    135x3
    155x1
    add belt
    185x1
    210x1
    225x1
    wrapped knees myself
    235x1
coach wrapped knees from here on out
245x1 (depth was sketchy. just broke parallel or at parallel. he wraps like a beast and i panicked and went up too soon)
260x1 (PR plus he said plenty of depth, too. WOOT!)

so he wants my squats to be as follows:
    100 kg (220)
    112 kg (246.4)
    117 or 120 depending on how i feel/how the squats go (257.4 or 264)

    yay!

and the day got even better because i got to watch cedric squat. he is an absolute beast. he warmed up and then did 415x5x5 and then 500x1 and 560x1. i *love* watching heavy lifting so much. i want to DO heavy lifting.

Oh lawdy. Internet warriors, gotta love 'em. And by love 'em, I mean "pick them up and throw them out the nearest window".

You're lifting plenty heavy, unless of course gravity functions differently at your gym. If your gym is on the international space station though, let me know and I'll take it all back.

    Preach on Brother Flounder!

Internet Warriors are why I only read, don't post, to the main or misc forums in the OV35. Stick to the journals where the rubber meets the road and people work more than they troll.

Also, way to go on the squat PR!
When life hands you lemons... ask for something higher in protein.

The weight is a hammer and the bench an anvil. That which happens between both forms and shapes us, showing our true mettle.

What?! 260!! Congrats geek, that is HUGE. Your squat is really taking off! And yeah, I'd say you are 'doing heavy lifting' now . Love the raccoon pic lol.

And I agree, the journals are where its at. The O35 This Week thread is nice, too, and the PR and video forums in the PL section. Positive interaction, learning and encouragement are what I go to Internet forums for but I guess some people go there to hurl insults at strangers over shoes??? I can't imagine it got you down for long because you turned around and squatted 260
