About to pick these up. Can anyone tell what brand these might be? 300 seems like a steal regardless

Anyone here experiencing issues with replying emails on Craigslist?
I have an item I have listed for a couple weeks now. I've received 6 replies asking if it's still available, and a 7th asking if I would lower my price. I replied back and answered "Yes" to all of them but I haven't received a reply from any of them again.
I have a feeling that my replies aren't getting sent out. I mean, what are the chances of 7 interested people that I replied back to just suddenly losing interest and not responding back? I would have expected at least one of them (specifically person #7) to haggle for the price.
Or me personally, just being polite, if I lost interest in something I would let the seller know "sorry maybe next time" or something similar.-!!!---!!!- No Excuses Homemade Equipment Crew #8 -!!!---!!!-

Are they real responses or CL spam type responses? Real ones have more user info than just random letters and numbers in their reply name. Also, are they asking specific type questions that indicate that they actually read the ad. I get a lot of responses that are not 'real' inquiries, more like potential phishing attempts. Also, there are a lot of kids with basically good intentions that will inquire about an ad just because they saw it, got excited, sent an inquiry, but don't have the money or parents permission to purchase it. An inquiry on CL is a no risk proposition. I'm also surprised at how many ads I inquired about, but never received a response from the seller. They probably sold the item and just ignore the email or text. The irritants are the ones that haggle over price, set up but cancel a pick-up, and never close the deal.

Short answer - people are a-holes on CL.
I think almost every exchange starts with "Still available?" Really frustrating, but I'm still going to reply and say yes. I could put a solid gold brick on there for $50 and someone would offer $40 and would need me to meet closer to them. There are a lot of people on CL that are there to try to flip stuff (not just lifting stuff...anything) - they have no interest in a fair deal...they just want to rip people off and make a few bucks.
Edit: I could be bitter because I'm trying to sell a laptop that goes for $500-$600 on eBay for $450 and I'm getting offers of $180-$250 from a lot of people.Last edited by Bench905; 09-21-2015 at 06:36 PM.

LMAO... Well played.
As far as the "Is it still available?" I state at the bottom of any of my ads: "Emails/texts asking 'Is it still available' or 'What's the best you can do' will not be answered."
It's not fool proof, but it does get rid of some of the riff raft. If nothing else, it show the reader that you are no stranger to CL and aware of the nonsense questions.▪█──────█▪ Equipment Crew #64 ▪█──────█▪

I used to state that at the bottom of my ads too, but it didn't stop anyone from still asking. In selling this laptop, I just had the most ridiculous exchange. Guy sent an e-mail asking for the specs...I replied that every spec is clearly listed in the ad. He asked for pics...again, pics are in the ad. He responded for where I'm located...again, in the ad. People are just idiots.
I refuse to play the "what's the best you can do" or "what's your bottom dollar" game. Either I will list the price as firm or if they ask those questions, I say that the price is listed and that's what I'm looking to get, but they are free to make an offer. Alternatively you can say "What's the most you will pay?"Garage Gym Owner

they were real people, I think. I remember specifically 3 of them had real names on the email, because I used their first name when I replied back. Although their reply emails were craiglist generated emails (ones with random letters/numbers) and not typical gmail or something.
you guys are probably right, they probably just lost interest or are a-holes. it was just uncommon for me. I bought and sold things on craigslist before and got replies from people. I just thought it was weird that I got 7 queries in a row but did not get replies back-!!!---!!!- No Excuses Homemade Equipment Crew #8 -!!!---!!!-

I wonder if people do that as a means of starting the conversation and thinking that maybe the seller is desperate and will just offer a lower price to get rid of it.
Was it you that would start telling people higher prices than what was listed in the ad when people emailed to ask? Might want to try that.Boomer Rep Crew #1

In-Shape Bench
Anyone have any experience or know about these benches?00M0M_4MXW4aSvwgU_600x450.jpg
I tried searching here, and doing a Google search. Best I could find is a gym called In-Shape... Maybe a commercial bench that they had their logo added to?
Trying to determine what to offer for them, as they'd go well in my set-up.My personal motto is Better than Yesterday. This defines who I am, my view of the world, and my goals in life. Thanks. Picked up the rack, bench, and weights a week ago. Was worth the $750. Don't think they were used much. Not even a chip of paint missing on the rack. At some point I need to sell the body solid bench that came with it and pick up an FID. This one is only flat or incline. Wife did NOT like the idea of the power rack going in the back of our finished basement/theater so it's in the garage.

I feel your frustration, I listed a shop vac on CL the other day for $40 and a lady had the nerve to offer $30 when they know it would cost them over $120 at Lowe's. Then I have my entire garage gym setup listed for $1500 and the last offer I received was $500 cash LOL. In my experience small electronics that are shipped easily are better sold on eBay, even after the Paypal and eBay listing fees you generally come out better than local CL.

Would you be willing to deliver it? I live two hours away and would pay you an additional $10.

Ive seen this before...
www .govliquidation.com/auction/view?auctionId=10151070&convertTo=USD
harrisburg.craigslist.org/fod/5236114880.html
I guess the angle here is to feel out what people are going to offer...make sure you win the GL auction for much less than that...then profit.
Also...besides breaking these db's down and making pairs...what would one want with single heavy dumbbells? Cant imagine many people doing one are rows with such heavy weights.
Some hammer strength benches. Needs a lot of tlc though... www .govliquidation.com/auction/view?auctionId=10149022&convertTo=USD

I believe he means that you listed an auction - some regulars here get upset when auctions are brought to everyone's attention as it may drive prices up.

Yup, deal killers are frowned upon here OP. Although, there have been some clutch postings where people have snagged some good deals they would have missed otherwise. Mech's post on the Williams Strength Magnum rack deal benefited several members here and I don't recall a complaint. Especially from me
