The Magnum racks were posted on CL about 2 weeks ago for $800. They've since dropped the price down to $600, so there may be some negotiating room. Looks like it would be about 2.5 hrs for me to drive 1 way to pick up the rack (5+ hrs round trip after loading it up, etc...). I already have a commercial Nautilus rack, with weight storage, and sabre safeties. I like the safeties on the Magnum better, plus I think the spacing on the safeties would be better than the Nautilus.

Can probably get them down cheaper than the given prices

Both of those are way overpriced, probably could get the same setup brand new. The only thing that's not your dime a dozen starter equipment is the $500 set has a commercial grade york split sleeve barbell.
The $500 one is also not even an olympic width bench lol.
The Nautilus set there are several of that exact setup at any given time around here.
EDIT: Price on the Nautilus is fair, I checked and ones here go for about the same. I guess you're paying a lot extra for the lat pull and storage. THat bench is one of the better home benches and the fact it's not attached is a plus.
If you want a power rack (cage) then I wouldn't even wast my time with a bench / squat rack. Just remember the standard price of used plates is .50 / lb and craigslist or any PIAS should have plenty.Last edited by RemainDieHard; 10-20-2014 at 07:39 PM.

Anyone ever see Hex bars for sale on craigslist? I have been scouring CL for weeks and none in the general area. Even searching on SearchTempest (which searchs all of craigslist) yields nothing close. What are the going prices for them used? Anyone find them in the Play It Again Sports stores? If buying new what is recommended above the CAP quality one I see on Amazon? The XMark seems highly rated but not super expensive either. Any thoughts?

If you have Amazon Prime you're not gonna beat $94 TYD for the CAP one. It has dual handles which not all have. I wouldn't worry about quality of a trap bar like you would on your regular bar. The only one I could think of that is (one) step up is the one I have, the Hampton Multi-Hex. Hampton makes top notch regular bars. Their hex bar has built in jackstand pegs, and the quality of the knurling is actually too good (sharp) I actually keep my grips wrapped in grip tape.
Hampton review with lots of pics:

Thats what I'm thinking to be honest. When my truck is fixed I'll call them up and see if we can make a deal. (I dont wana bother calling them if I can't even pick it up)
Also how good/bad are Body Solid benches known to be? I can pick up a Body Solid FID for $350 brand new. I see they run about 410$ from a few retailers.

Which bench are you looking at? In general their benches are pretty decent, but I wouldn't spend $350 on one. If you're looking new and want to stay around $350, the Rep Fitness bench may be worth checking out: http://www.repfitness.com/strength-e...justable-bench

This is the only BS bench that might be worth that kind of money...maybe...

That kind of money should buy you a nice used commercial bench from a dealer."What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us." - Ralph Waldo Emerson

Oh i get you now haha.
I'm getting my truck fixed tomorrow so if all goes according to plan this Saturday or Sunday hopefully ill be going for a little drive to pick up a nice power rack. They've been sitting there for 2 weeks so I'm hoping they'll sit for 3-4 more days. Also Stasher1, if you only had around a $350 budget what Bench would you go for?
Or should I really just wait?
