I don't know either. If it's chrome, it might be Iron Grip--their older bars were chrome split sleeves.
All Iron Grip Olympic bars are manufactured in the USA (except curl bars) from elevated temperature drawn steel, with self-lubricating bushings and a 1500-pound test. The Power Bar is manufactured from thicker bar stock, using special steel which minimizes flex and creates that "dead" feel. All domestically made Iron Grip Olympic Bars offer a brushed (satin) chrome finish, meet International Weightlifting Federation (IWF) standards and carry a 5-year guarantee against breakage for the original owner. Heavy duty Iron Grip Quick Collars featuring the patented Quicklee quick release technology are machined from 2", high-impact chromed steel and are sold by the pair.Last edited by morebarbell; 07-25-2014 at 06:06 AM.

Hey guys,
Been wanting to pick up a rower for a while now and found a C2 Model C w PM2 for $300 CAD. Seems like a solid deal and heading to check it out today. Any advice on what to look for? (Aside from obvious major damage, chain condition)
Thanks!| Woody |

Make sure the monitor works and the wiring looks ok. Bring batteries just in case - you don't want to be stuck with a broken monitor just because the seller didn't put new batteries in. Also, check the odometer. It's not a huge issue as Concept2's are reliable, but it doesn't hurt to check. Instructions here. Since it's a Model C, it comes apart into 2 pieces. Make sure that you can take it apart and put it back together easily and that it feels solid when you're rowing. Any other issues should be obvious visually or while rowing.

Concept2 seems to have a good reputation for parts availability. They seem to be infinitely rebuildable, so I doubt you could go very wrong.

Icarian super bench, its been been up a awhile and seems fit for haggling. I'd do it, but I already have one monster bench I'm thinking I might like to downsize.

Update: checked it out today. Turns out he had 2 of them. Very very high mileage but very well kept. One of them at 39k and the other at 30k. No slippage or tooth wear, no pitting on the rail and rollers + seats in good shape. Both with working PM2s. Got both for $500.
Going to set both up for now. Might upgrade one or both monitors with retrofit kits for PM3/4. Could maybe even flip one for profit?
Either way happy with my find. Wanted a rower for a long time!| Woody |

Nice work! That's a great deal. Don't know the Canadian market, but I bet you can flip one for $500ish, which would be like getting the other for free. I wouldn't bother with the upgrade if you're going to flip, it's not cost-effective. 30/39k isn't much at all - I've had some well over 100k, and heard about much higher online. I'd consider yours lightly used with that kind of mileage, which makes it an even better deal for you.

Nice ProMaxima power rack and some other stuff here. Had to LOL at how the seller put the pull up bar through the rafters on his power rack:

What going on guys, new member here. Been looking for deal on craigslist for a plate loaded lat machine. I came across this today (add "http" before the colon, ://stlouis.en.craigslist.org/spo/4588654836.html) Not really sure of the make and model, I asked the seller and they did not know. I'm wondering because I don't want to buy something that can't hold a substantial amount of weight. Anyone able to help out? Thanks.

he reposted that a few days ago, but its been lingering around Chicago CL for a while now. not sure what the issue is. maybe a bit overpriced given condition, or too tall at 96" for many potential buyers. the safeties concerned me in the pic, as they don't seen to fit too well.

The safeties fit that same way on the new Reflex and Sorinex racks. I think it's because of the direction of the pins on the safeties. I too prefer that the pins are in the same direction so that there's no gap but I don't think it's a problem. The tons of people that bought the Sorinex Dark Horse racks for $1000 don't seem to mind.
I think it's still sitting there because people are cheap. He's throwing in two plates trees which makes it a really good deal. But most of the penny pinchers on CL think plate trees are free ...and Sorinex and Reflex aren't as cool and popular as some other names. He has OBO so I think you could haggle down to $400.
If I was in the market for a new rack, it would be mine. The only thing I don't like about the rack is the rear crossmember. That might get in the way of bench placement for incline. Also the supports on the pullup bar might get in the way of a wide grip pullup.[]---[] Ivanko Barbell Crew #32 []---[] ()---() York Barbell Club #43 ()---() ▉---▉ Equipment Crew #50 ▉---▉
