When considering if a purchase of used equipment is a good deal or not, it helps to know what that item costs new. At Dicks Sporting Goods I can buy a pair of 25 DBs for $44 plus tax. The online price is $50.
So, is an old, used pair of 25 DBs at almost the same price as new a good deal? Not in my book. I want a substantial discount from the new price to buy used. Otherwise I will just buy new.
But there may be other reasons it is a good deal -- for you.

Mint condition Parabody 874, too bad I don't have room for it.

I think $100 is a good price for commercial grade.

I just sold that bench for $75. Lol got it for $7 the day before, got lucky because the guy lived 5 mins away from me. I actually just wanted the pull down that came with it, I informed him he could get atleast $40 for the bench a alone, but I didn't want it. In the end he just said "how about $10 and it's all yours." So I was like fineee ^^

For anyone in the NH/MA area. Looks like a Cybex bench possibly? Needs new upholstery, but only $20.

The bench press is junk. You can buy the Cap weight set for $194.99 brand new at Dunham's with this coupon. There's a Dunham's in Houghton, MI which is about 20 minutes away from the location of the Craigslist ad. IIRC Dunham's had the weight set on sale for around $150 on Black Friday last year. I suspect it'll be on sale again this year... and BF is only a few weeks away.
You're kind of in a remote area so you'll probably need to order a power rack. You might look at www.mydynamicfitness.com (located relatively nearby in WI) or www.Roguefitness.com (Ohio).
Here's last years Black Friday Ad for reference:

I really have no real knowledge when it comes to Power Racks and such. A High school about 2 hours from me are selling 3 of these for $600 a piece, a good deal or no?

Here's a fairly similar Magnum multi-rack for comparison...

Yes, those look like Magnum racks. Full commercial quality. $600 is a fair price for one but I would still try to get it for less.

How would you move that rack? It looks fully welded and probably weighs a lot.

I'd be willing to bet that each rear upright/weight storage is one piece, the front uprights are separate pieces, the bracing connecting the f&r uprights are sep. pieces, and the crossbars connecting the sides are separate pieces. It should fit in the back of a pickup or full-size SUV once it's broken down."What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us." - Ralph Waldo Emerson

I don't know anything about your local Craigslist, so I don't know how often items like this pop up, butI wouldn't expect to have any trouble unloading a rack like that in the Atlanta area for their asking price. You could probably buy a new residential-grade rack for the same money (or less), but it won't be the same quality as a full commercial rack like that.
Look at it this way... It'll save you money in the long run because you'd want to upgrade from a residential rack in a year or two anyway.

Whats up Stasher1, Not sure if you got the email I sent. I'll introduce myself here later when I feel better but I wanted to add to this post now because I noticed something in the picture that seemed off. When I purchased my HSOHDPR8 it was assembled incorrectly, the left and right rear uprights were reversed. I had to exit the rack to adjust both safeties and hooks from the outside which was not the proper way according to the LF HS manual. I could be wrong but you should be able to adjust both without leaving the inside of the rack.
I used a a pickup with a six foot bed to transport when I purchased my Hammer Strength OHDPR8. I transported with the tailgate closed and the uprights resting on the tailgate. My racks weight is in the area of 900lbs soIi would guess that one is in the area of 600 lbs. I saw a rack like this in craigslist mislabled as a legend and it turned out to be branded power lift on the rack. IMO its a value like Stasher1 stated.
Correction it may have actually been branded magnunLast edited by OffAir; 10-19-2014 at 04:11 PM.

Bar Id
Picked up the bar over the weekend, feels great in hand and has a very aggressive knurl (like a TPB, actually really resembles it...), can any one help ID, has no marking on it.
Thanks

Not sure how far a drive it is but IMO $600 is a great price for those. I would jump on it. I wish my multi had the pull up bar in the back like that.

Someone posted a rogue bar in my area for 150. Appears in good condition. My thoughts are I should jump on this deal rather than buy the Cap bar everyone recommends since they are about the same price. Am I thinking correctly? I have no other bars. Just been waiting to purchase a weight set.

Dammit I only posted the picks so people wouldn't beat me to the punch, you ruined my plan haha. I'll let ya know if they'd take $500. ****ty thing is my truck wont be fixed till the end of the week at the earliest so I wouldn't be surprised if they get sold before I could pick one up.
It would also be near a 2 hour drive for me...
