I enjoy a challenge and am looking forward to those games being destroyed by people playing their first ever game not being possible in ranked matches.

What I mean is, if you were given a ranking right now it would be 1-2k and the games would look very similar to what you have already played in unranked. The only improvement is turn based picking.
My argument was that 150 games is fine amount of games for a new player to have to play to unlock ranked.

The new Compendium-only ranked mode is pretty sick. Only got a chance to play a couple games last night but I had all reasonable, non-raging, english speaking teammates. It was beautiful.

Compendium is totally worth it if your a steady dota player. I probably play 5-15 matches per week depending, for the better part of 10 years lmao. For $10 I get cool cosmetic items, "Quests" To complete while playing matches, etc.. etc... So for $10 you can get probably 200-300 hours worth of "fun stuff". Totally worth it.

If you see yourself getting bored of dota, I wouldn't get it. If its something you're in for the long haul, totally worth the $10.

The challenge shouldn't be the W or L. You should challenge yourself to improve your own game each time you play.

Watch replays. see what you did wrong. improve your CS, improve your game sense.

Been spamming Void lately, feel like he is the hardest to build hero ATM. Think he sucks TBH (unless you have good teammates), which is a shame b/c his skills are so cool.

I think void is so good tho. As an offlane hero he has pretty much everything:
- Decent tankiness
- A "regen" and escape ability all in one
- High base damage with good harass potential (bash damage buffed in current patch)

Worst come to worst, he's a decently good jungler with iron Talon and bashes.

And his time dilation and chrono is great for team fights. All you need are teammates that can follow up from outside the chrono.

He even transitions better into late game as a semi carry compared to other offlaners like ET, ES, Bat, or beastmaster.

Maybe try it again later today see how it goes.

Yeah the hero irritates me b/c of that hyuuuuuuge dependence on the team, if you have the normal moolies who pick melee carries after you pick Void or just aren't ready for you to drop the chrono at a moments notice and stand around with their dick in their hands when you use it, you can't win 90% of the time. Even if you go carry void he is just sooo much weaker in the mid-late game than most carries and kind of catches up when you are six slotted. He's fantastic early though - I'll probably give it a few more days before I write him off in solo games.

This is another factor for sure, which is more reason why the hero is not good. Not only do you need your team to use the chrono effectively which happens in 1/10 games, but then the Void needs to not throw down a ****ty chrono or one with no back up - just so much **** has to go right.

faceless is OKAY in the offlane position right now, as it was said more of a utility hero as he can't really out carry slarks/specs etc.

i think in pubs id still rather have a tide instead of a void. Ravage is such a better spell then chrono as far as lockdown goes.

That's the thing about the way void is played now as an offlane. He's more of a set up utility hero I agree.

But after the nerf to time dilation and the buff to his bash, I honestly think despite going offlane, you should still go more damage items so you can do more in chrono and not rely on your teammates.

I've tried octarine on him and my opinion is that getting damage items is USUALLY the better choice unless your team is so far ahead they can synergize with your chrono well.

My build (with standard starting items poor man shield and iron Talon) usually is:

- Treads
- Vlads (if team has lots of right clicks)
- Dagger (skip if your team doesn't do enough damage and you need to carry them)
- Mjollnir/Daedalus/assault (depends on situation)

I never go radiance (too hard to farm and takes too long to come online. 5k+ gold could have gotten you maelstrom + crystals, and they're easier to build)

Octarine only if you're so far ahead and if your team can follow up in chrono

I'm a big fan of the diffusal / manta void right now. That item combo seems pretty popular atm.
