Skyrim was the greatest game of the PS3 generation (serious)

Skyrim is on a whole different level on the PC. With the mods that are out, it's nearly infinitely replayable (new quests, scripts, etc). And the graphics......







I mean, they're even now still coming out with new water textures. New enb graphic mods all the time....

That said, the bottom line is that with all the choices people have made here, I have to say that whether it's Skyrim, The Last of Us, Mass Effect, Fallout 3, or whatever - we're living in great gaming times.

I'm enjoying the hell out of all the great games, there just isn't enough time to play them all. Good livin' boys, embrace them and enjoy.

Skyrim was unplayable on PS3. Seriously, I mean unplayable. After a certain update it simply wouldn't launch and hang on the first black screen. Deleted all saves, game data, rolled back ps3 firmware... nothing. Strange as it played fine on my fat PS3. Slim (which was supposed to be slightly better in some ways), not so much.

That being said I am playing modded Skyrim for the first time and I'm enjoying it. Its a good game to relax while drinking a beer when I need a break from other games.

Dark Souls was easily the best game of the PS3 generation. Much love to Demons, but I got several hundred hours out of Dark Souls.

I'm playing TLOU for the first time and I understand why so many people are raving about it. Holy phuck. Honestly the gameplay/puzzle style stealth mechanics arent my favorite, but the atmosphere literally pulls you in. I'm still scratching my head over how they managed to make a 10 year old system look so beautiful, also.

I thought RDR was boring as fuk. Come at me

On top of this there are all kinds of different races, questlines, areas to explore, immersion mods like "realistic needs and desires" that punish you for having disease, being thirsty/hungry, not sleeping, etc. Consoles have their place but TES/Fallout games really should be played on the PC for the best experience.

I bought Skyrim, NV, and FO3 for 360. After buying them all again for PC, i definitely agree. The mods and power make such a difference.

They look great on youtube, you will definitely notice the difference (moreso if you look at a side by side comparison of PC vs console). But youtube severely lowers the quality so keep that in mind, also capped at 30 fps I believe. The difference from 30 fps to 100 fps+ is huge, there is no blur at all, turning is smooth as butter.



Like I said you won't notice the huge benefit from more FPS when watching on youtube, still looks great though

Your fps will drop when there's a lot on screen but it's nothing that will ruin the game

I'm a huge fan of Bethesda, and even I can admit that their games have a ton of bugs, albeit minor ones.

It's not really unplayable on consoles, but it's certainly buggier.

It's like any other game when the requirements exceed your system specs: Your performance suffers. That's why you should always have at least 2 6GB cards in your system.

In Climates of Tamriel, enable very dark nights and very dark dungeons. You will be able to get away with running around the wild at night but in a dungeon you will need a torch in areas with no lighting, and it's a lot scarier

I'm not sure if it would conflict or not as I haven't taken a look at it. Realvision imo is a hit or miss, some people like the more vivid colors while others think the original grey look is better, but I think it's depressing. Also Realvision has extra steps to download. Make sure you go to the mod page and read all the instructions. There are some extra steps, some other things you need to change in skyrimprefs.ini, as well as turning antialiasing off and anisotropic filter off. That's not all though, just make sure you follow all the steps on the page or it won't work. It will drop your performance but it's worth it imo.

I believe I ran vanilla skyrim at around 100-110 fps, but with all my mods (a chit ton) + enb I get around 40-50 fps. But it's worth it imo. Let me know what you think.

If I had to choose a game based on replay value, fun, time spent playing, and community it would be a halo 3. Could log on any time of day and have at least 10 friends playing. Also incredibly competitive even in a pub scenario

I had that issue as well. PC is better on that front but it still gets a little slower as you progress through the game.
