I am wondering how many people here think this is the best way to go with approach to lifting / fitness? Personally I think you have to get obsessed and a little crazy and seriously dedicated to push yourself to achieve in fitness. Especially in todays era with all the magazines and tv shows etc the guy or gal who goes 1-2 days a week is just going to mix into the crowd

What are you asking? Are you seeking affirmation that being obsessed with your hobby is ok?

lol exactly.
For me it was bit of obsession in beginning but now it became a life style. It's like I just get natural physiological response to go to gym, I get itchy if I don't hit the gym. I don't get obsessed now though, I think it may have to do with the fact that I have so much knowledge and I know how to compensate things and balance it around. Without knowledges you will probably be more in the state of insecurity and even obsession.Dymatize ISO-100 protein: 25g protein, 1 carb, 0 fat, 0 lactose, 0 sugar

The gym is my stress reliever, and a life style. No matter what is going on in life. I go to my little hole in the wall gym, put on some Five Finger Death Punch over the stereo system, and train. No stress in the world for the hour or so that I train. I prep myself with a good clean diet every day. But damnit, my day or two off i take, i enjoy them to the fullest, until it's time to train again.
Live easy. Train hard.

As far as becoming as good as you possibly can or just becoming good, period?
Naturally, becoming the BEST you POSSIBLY CAN at something requires obsession. I can guarantee you every IFBB pro ever is obsessive as hell about it. They probably laugh at anyone even questioning this concept like "wow, he's never gonna make it".
BUT, if you just want to be in good shape, maybe 85% of your max potential, then you can actually be pretty laid back about it and still get it done.
