True, hence my last line. I just think that benching 315 with that ROM is pretty similar to benching 225 with average ROM which isn't thread worthy/impressive. At the end of the day he can bench more than me for sure though. Weight classes are also pretty stupid because they are just based on weight and not on weight per inch of height. I don't compete and most likely never will so I shouldn't be bothered anyways

And your frame has potential to hold a LOT more muscle mass than a guy thats 5'2. Him benching 315 is not anywhere close to you benching 225 with 70lbs more bodyweight. Weight classes are stupid? The lifts get heavier for each weight class. Because some dude has t-rex arms in the 198 class will not make him outbench someone in the 264's. You said he should bench 450 to impress you? Thats close to world record! It is WAY more impressive for him to bench 300 at 150 than you benching 225 at 218

A taller person has a larger ribcage and doesn't have nearly as much ROM disadvantage as they'd like to think. Not to mention this has been beaten to death that the taller a person is, the larger the torque, and the more muscle to actually push the bar.

I checked what his BMI is (29) and wanted to see what it would take for a manmore at 6'4 to have a similar BMI and it's only (only...) 230lbs. If I'm thinking straight that means that "Short Stack" and a 6'4 230lber would have a relatively equal distribution of muscle over their frames, so theoretically they'd be able to do that as well.

Same BMI = equal distribution of muscle over skeleton = negates difference in leverage since they're on an equal footing weight to height wise. Amirite?
