    What's my body fat percentage?

Hey guys, I'm having difficulty discerning my body fat.

    I use three methods:

    1. OMRON Handheld calculator says anywhere from 15-17.6% which I believe is total BS because I have lovehandles and a gut.

    2. AccuMeasure Calipers say anywhere from 17-23%; I'm weighing 1 inch above my hipbone as it says on the brochure and get 17%, but when I weigh my largest accumulation of fat (one inch above hipbone and to the left, about halfway between belly button and hipbone) it says 23%.

    3. Tape Measure Method and did the equation and it said around 18-19%.

My goal is to hit 175 lbs (I'm 5'11, 25 years old) and I've been at a caloric deficit for 4 months along with 1.5-2 hours resistance training at the gym, no cardio (gym partners hate cardio). 175 is on the latter end of healthy for my height, anything above 180 is considered overweight and where I'm at now is very overweight, where I was when I started 4 months ago (225 lbs) was considered obese. I have cut bread, pasta, rice, all starches, etc. I eat protein and veggies only and am in the process of cutting out fatty meats and replacing with chicken only and protein shakes. My protein shakes have sucralose I believe which also causes weight gain but that's all I can find, until next month when I get the non-flavored shakes. My guess is I'm anywhere between 25-30% body fat, just more muscular.

According to multiple online calculators at my activity level (which would be low to moderate as its only weight training, no cardio, 6 days a week for 1.5-2 hours) I should be consuming 2200-2500 calories a day, I eat on average 1800 calories. My job is the night shift, I take metformin to counteract the effects of a psychotropic med I take for BP. I am supposed to up my dosage of metformin in a couple of weeks so hopefully that helps, if not I'm going to try the garcinia stuff.

Almost done with one cycle of Animal Cuts, purchased Arnold Iron Cuts and will dive into that after one week break. Trying to fit in cardio but really scared of losing my muscle gains as well.

I cannot post links to pics as I don't have 50 posts but I have posted the most recent pics (last night) on my Bodyspace Progress Gallery. Thank you for your responses!

Based on the new progress pictures from April 26th?

Here's what I was in January:

    225 lbs

OMRON: 23% body fat (Total BS)
    Calipers: 26-30% body fat
    Personal Guess: 35-40% body fat

Did you see the before/after comparison? Also I have taken Test booster cycles and I do take creatine. Should I stop those? I'm not sure how much muscle I gained in 4 months but there is definitely less fat on my arms and chest, I'm able to breathe in my shirts and can now wear size M, and have dropped from 36W to 34W in pants. I have a tendency for lots of water retention due to the meds I'm on.

I mean I see the pictures of 25%, 30%, 40% body fat online and these people truly are huge/obese, idk if I have dysmorphia but I keep hearing from people I'm NOT anywhere near 25-30% but I beg to differ as 195 is very overweight for 5'11.

    Any suggestions for fat loss/metabolism?

I take a neuroleptic with supposedly minimal/no weight gain and a mood stabilizer (Lamictal) which can cause a good amount of water retention. But in the two years I've taken them I had gone up from 180 lbs to a max of 230 lbs. That's a 50 pound gain- not to mention lifestyle choices such as night shift work and undisciplined eating, lack of consistent exercise, and general loafing around.

I've tried Animal Cuts (helped get from 205-195 lbs, now I'm finishing up week 2), I'm on metformin (without exercise I just dropped from 225-215, with exercise it's helped me reach 205 lbs, I eat 4-5 times a day (mostly protein shakes with two veggie-heavy meals (salads with lemon juice and oil dressing accompanied with a piece of grilled chicken) or sometimes replace this meal with carrots and a cup of hummus. Never exceeds more than 2,000 calories at most. I never have a cheat day. A cheat meal like once every two weeks.

I've heard neuroleptics cause a significant lowering of RMR/BMR. I've also heard the big offenders like Zyprexa and Seroquel cause the body to stop metabolizing carbs for energy and go straight to fats, which is why its important to go on a low-carb or even ketosis diet when on these meds. As a general rule, a deficit at 1800 calories is good for someone that works out as often as I do and is in my size range, but perhaps due to the meds my RMR is lower and I should be at a deficit at 1200 calories. Going off meds is not an option as these two meds have saved my life. But the fat accumulation and danger for diabetes is very real and I'm trying to mitigate those effects to the best I can.

What are some diet suggestions? Is it possible to incorporate 45 minutes to 1 hour of cardio and NOT lose the LBM I have?

Hard to be exact, but you're at least 20 for sure. Sorry, I don't have any advice for guys with medical conditions and/or on medication.
