I used my usual stool for the first sets of high box squats. After that I experimented with going a little lower but not quite to parallel. My left hip tightened up during the 3 sets at 95 lbs but once I was done squatting I was fine. No residual pain. I guess that is a good sign. I will probably work at this height for a while as long as the tightness subsides after I finish squatting. Eventually I hope to get to parallel.
I really didn't do much other than squats and calves. My left hamstring tightened up early on so I didnt kill myself. After finishing up I used the Beastie ball to work on the hamstring tightness. I could not flatten out my leg enough to put any real pressure on my hamstring so I ended up sitting on the counter so that my knee would bend and put the ball under my leg. It worked pretty well but I am sure people were WTF'in me. It worked out most of the tightness so let them WTF.POWERLIFTING TRAINING JOURNAL

Wednesday 7/30/14: Smolov Jr. for Bench - Week 2, Day 2:
Flat bench
45x15x2
65x10
75x5
95x3
105x7
105x5x6
Stair climber
10 mins @ level 4
I had my numbers written down wrong when I did my first set. It should have been 105x5x7. I got the reps and sets backwards then corrected for the last 6 sets.
All in all I felt pretty good today. I paused all reps in the last three sets even. My chest tightened up a little but not enough to slow me down. Shoulders felt just fine.POWERLIFTING TRAINING JOURNAL

We will see how I like them. These are 5mm as compared to the blue which are 7mm. I dont think that will make a difference though.
Pricey and hopefully worth it. Now if I could just find some shorts that dont ride up my legs....
