    measuring waist

Potentially silly question: is it a good idea to get a tailor to measure my waist? I ask because I don't trust myself, possibly biased or horrible at measuring.

Any reason you need a 100% accurate waist measurement ? If it's for tracking purposes just make sure to measure it the same way every time and any change will show.
My story going from obese to fit while battling daily chronic headaches:

Both for tracking purposes and to get an accurate read on bf percentage since I can't really afford to get a DEXA scan.
