Profile 8/10

The profile is centered around a 100 mg a scoop. It could be made much better if the core ingredients were more robust per 1 scoop versus requiring updosing. Nonetheless it's got things I havent seen elsewhere and I think it's still underdosed unless you go up.

Mix 9.7/10

There are many pre workouts that leave a bunch of residue behind at the bottom, small, very small, tiny, flakes.. but this one has more of the "tiny" refined sand. Mixes great but the best thing is it does not affect the flavor which I've found to hamper many PWO's.

Flavor (Apple Asylum) 8.5

Balanced flavor saying a lot since the Xtend tend to run on the overly "bright" sugary side. I wish it was balanced like Psycho is, also reminds me a whole lot of Jolly Ranchers apple, many apple flavors taste close to it but one of the probs is the chemical aftertaste getting in the way of a good flavor experience. It has a touch of sourness coming from the flavor not as a result of chemical aftertaste, it's by design. I like the flavor overall but it could be better as well.

Pump 8/10

I expected something like 1.5/2 scoops range to get a really good pump from it, and it's true. I felt as though 1 scoop was not nearly enough to sustain a long and forced workout, 2 scoops however felt slightly better, 3 scoops while very good just mean I'm overpaying for the product. So overall it's an 8 on pumps considering the higher dosages.

Energy 8.3/10

I got the most noticeable energy at 2 scoops, I played with it it and 3 gave me a ton of energy. It was very clean too and not as jittery as with other pre workouts. But, I had to use 2 scoops to get that good energy out.

Focus 8.2/10

Some focus without any stress, but 33 mg (based on the math of 133 mg ({caffeine 100mg - dendrobium = 33 mg}). Produces good focus I could stay on task with the 2-3 scoop range however, I didn't really get much out of 1 scoop to be honest.

Value 8.4/10

From the outside it gives overall great value, at a closer look it resembles what I think is more of a 2-scoop (based on overall ingredients and doses), so it ranges from $0.48 to $0.96.

Overall 8/10

Psycho is a moderately dosed pre that gives you clean energy overall and endurance I think the flavor stands out from the rest of the Scivation line, at least this flavor, because it's more balanced which works great with about 6 oz water. As a blend it has potential for sure, it does have 100 mg which depending where you are (stim tolerant-closer to stim break) makes a difference in whether or not it's viable and therefore jumps or detracts from the overall value. At the same time the core ingredients are good, a few things I haven't seen before in a pre, I think ubiquitol made a difference in augmenting natural energy (breathing easier).

Nice review man! As you said its not an overpowering pre but rather more subtle, on the smoother side. IMO this makes it more user friendly!


I'll occasionally take 1 scoop in between meals at work for a little pick me up treat. As for training, I dose in the 2-3 scoop range.

I say it works well for an intermittent energy booster then just down another scoop or two before hitting the gym it really amped me up prior I recommend 2 scoops as you mentioned but the one thing I like is the balanced caffeine content "diet" and energy combination enough to bring about lots of energy but also not so much caffeine to throw you off your game (3 scoops = 300 mg/2 scoops - 200 mg).

Thanks for the review bud! I love that I can take Psycho at night and still sleep, or knock back 3 scoops in the morning or afternoon and have the extra energy and focus for a workout.

ideal because it has enough firepower in the stims department, equal parts caffeine = 100 mg and equal parts everything else. for a preworkout though I would recommend 2-3 scoops but perfect for an office environment with 1 or 1.5 scoops, hope this helps you out.
