From my experience, bribery and corporate influence have absolutely nothing to do with local law enforcement protocols and guidelines/actions. You can see this through the civil disobedience lashing out against gun registration in Connecticut and other states. Here in CO we've had several county Sheriff's actively speak out against politicians trying to control citizens. I do not think your resistance and anger are pointed at the right people.

Hey man, I get it, being a police officer can be tough. Like I said, a few of my close buddies are cops and I hear the stories. From gore to crackheads they deal with a lot and its often stressful.
This cop here lost his cool and whether or not the average person would have lost theirs too is irrelevant because what followed was objectively brutal and unnecessary. Even if he is a nice guy and does volunteer work on weekends, this action needs consequences because the law in situations like these needs to be objective or else it will be exploited.
The other cops' mannerisms didn't suggest this was a wildly chaotic situation either so it may very well be that the cop in question just isn't strong enough to be a proper cop. But again, this was brutal an unnecessary, now matter how satisfying it may be to see someone you don't like get punched in the face.Civilize the mind but make savage the body

LOL are you fkin serious bro? I mean have never seen someone this stupid on the misc before. Like do you actually take the time to take in what you just read or do you just go like "he's not agreeing with me, fuk him im right". Like im at a loss for words. How does chasing after someone, knocking them down, and then punching them "exercise restraint"? Maybe just simply ignoring him after saying fuk you would suffice?

when the guy was explaining what happened to that chick
"the dude just came up and asked what was wrong, and the cop literally pushed him into the car"
no that wasn't what happened. dude came up and was disturbing the peace, and was actively resisting. cops have the authority to use non lethal force to restrain the guy in that case.Reps to LEO and military brahs on sight.

guy had his arms up and was trying to push the cop off. he was also interfering with the arrest, prior to mouthing off, so the cop could have gotten him for that.
police have discretion. you likely won't get ticketed for jaywalking, but if you jaywalk and cuss out a cop, then you will go.Reps to LEO and military brahs on sight.

A Special Forces platoon had to police the country of Haiti I believe it was about ten million people. They were there for about 8 months and only killed one man (because he shot at them.) they were literally Soldier Cop Judge Jury and Executioner. By the time they were leaving everyone was cheering them. Why? Because they were professional. Cool and calm. most cops can't even talk to people properly, they have not been trained to it seems.

So the behavior of someone acting against the law should be ignored while upholding and enforcing the law? Europe and Haiti are probably accepting immigrants if that's what you'd like to have as law enforcement.

My point is the opposite happened in the video the cop was charging and the guy was backing up then he got taken down and punched twice in the face. Have you no empathy? When it happens to you I hope you keep the same viewpoint.
I do BJJ I got attacked by two guys on the street and I got a heel hook on one of them and tore his knee out. Even though I was attacked I still felt sorry for the guy because now he won't walk for a few months. I got cursed at by so many drunks and never even fought them, why am I gonna fight a drunk? You need a lesson in empathy.

What I was getting at is if a force of less than 5'000 can police 10 million people in a third world country after a coup had just been staged and only kill man and have the people cheer them when they left then why can't police in the US behave properly? Because in the US as a cop it's us (cops) against them (Citizens)

Cops should be soft. Cops shouldn't control any situations they are in and allow several drunk people to crowd around and outnumber them substantially because we don't want the misc getting upset with how we do our job.
Everyone, including you is Monday morning qb'ing this incident. If you are not an officer and have never been in a situation like this then you will have irrational opinions of how these things should be resolved.
Would I have done that? Most likely not. But if dude was that close interfering with my partner, a push would not suffice. I'm willing to wager that kid was warned prior to that push but did not listen to the officer's directions."Some people spend their entire lifetime wondering if they made a difference in the world. If cops don't want to deal with bull****, they shouldn't be cops. It's not like they are forced to do the job. If they want to go kill/hurt people, they should join the military. To be cop, you should be better than regular people, be able to defuse situations, be less violent than regular people.
EDIT: And I don't get into fights with drunk people. Not because I don't want to, but because I will get held accountable by the law. A cop will not get held accountable 99% of the time, and the rest of the force will back him up, which bothers me the most.
