Why can't we admit that Asians are generally smarter than blacks? And that blacks are genetically better at sports and physical activity? By the way if AA was gone, white people wouldn't even be in these top tier schools, it would be like 80 percent Asian lol

So, do all the white people ITT that hate AA because they for whatever reason really love meritocracy, even if it effects their race negatively. Or are they just rustled because it helps blacks.
I live in Canada, we don't have AA; so I don't really care either way to be honest. But it confuses me as to why everyone is so rustled by this?

Even if AA is abolished, colleges will likely give poor students of all races a boost (which is fair imo). However, I doubt colleges would allow the majority of their student bodies to become predominantly asian. Thus, AA would still in a way exist to an extent, though it would only serve to place a cap on the # of asians admitted.

I'm sorry, but you're dead wrong.
Unless you're talking about performance enhancing drugs, genetics are HUGE in terms of influencing your athletic ability, as well as your ultimate intellectual abilities and your talents in other areas.
You've probably never been in a situation where things come easily to you while others struggle, but it's very real. I achieved better grades than people that actually did the work because I came into situations with the deck stacked in my favor in the intelligence department. Aside from practicing spelling and my multiplication tables in the 3rd grade, I never studied until I was almost a senior in college. By the same token, ask me to run a mile to avoid being mauled by a bear, and I'll go ahead and slather myself in barbecue sauce for the bear because it ain't happening.

If that indeed proved the case, then what you'd see was the following:
1) Asians getting into great schools.
2) Whites & Blacks making do with lower ranked schools.
3) Whites & Blacks doing better in the workforce after school
4) Whites & Blacks being able to afford to send their kids to the better schools, since they then become more successful.
5) Asian kids needing scholarships to attend the great schools, and a subsequent reduction in their representation at the higher ranked schools.

you wouldnt see 1&2 because, irrespective of AA, universities do still pursue demographic quotas
furthermore, given we currently live in a credentialist society, 5 also wouldnt be true. this type of society also explains why asians tend to push their children into the field of medicine.5.0 crew

I think people take these things too far^^
Of course genetics play a role but it doesn't mean you can get *decent* at whatever you're doing. Whether it's running a mile or getting a certain GPA in college.

you are basing this on academia right? if so i can rightfully say i'm probably smarter than 80% of misc.
also ingenuity and innovation is not a direct correlation to intelligence if it were asians would be chitting out new inventions, if you studied 24/7 like they do, you probably would be chitting on the entire class seeing that the general populace is lazy as chit when it comes to academics.

Strong post.
imo AA should only exist for undergraduate education based on socioeconomic standards. It isn't surprising that kids of any race coming out of the hood would have lower SAT scores than kids of any race raised in the upper middle class. That doesn't necessarily mean they'll be any less successful in college. For every poor kid who is failing in college because he can't hack it academically, there is an upper middle class kid who if failing in college because he is drinking/smoking himself into a stupor. Both groups should get the same chance.
The only person who ever kept me from missing out on an acceptance to any school, undergrad or medical, was me. There's a little personal responsibility for you so savor it misc.

I just read the entire thread.
Ocill88 has to be the dumbest person on this forum.
Seriously, post a research paper you've written in college. I'm sure it would give everyone a good laugh."Same here, im at a point where I watch hentai and jack off to high res VR cartoon hentai maids that look like 3d models of the drawings you usually see in hentais but full vr with boob physics and everything in 3d like real life. They are way better than reality even lol. "

I've read the whole thing, trying desperately to give him the benefit of the doubt. Post after post, he made himself seem unintelligent and incapable of forming rational responses. This has actually be one of the better threads I've read on the misc, some people with great input. Truthfully, I haven't dug into this issue much, but it is certainly interesting. I don't think that the current system of AA is the correct way to fix the issue. There should be less emphasis on race/gender, it isn't right to give handouts because of these factors.
@Ocill88, for the love of god, if YOU'RE (as in you are) going to try to argue a point, try to do so with some intelligence. It's one thing to slack off on grammar and general structure when you're in a thread about sloots, but if you're going to try to discuss an issue such as this, no one will take you serious.Last edited by codyw912; 04-22-2014 at 10:28 PM.

I just can't believe some of you phucking idiots who are saying this... Do u even Africa?
Being born in the U.S with legal documents puts you in the top 10% of the world population in terms of living standards by default.
Have some pride in this country and don't ever think that Africans are better off than African Americans ever again.
Past is the past you *******. Ask any African in Africa right now whether they would choose to continue to live in Africa or immigrate to the U.S and I think u know the answer.

If you guys have learned anything from this thread (supporting or opposing views), I encourage you to rep the poster(s) that have influenced your views on this topic.
I initially started this thread without the single clue that it would turn out to be a very informative thread. The law has passed and it will slowly bring the end of Affirmative Action as we know it.
Thank you all for your opinions and views

Can confirm. Lived next to a guy who regularly traveled to Kenya to visit the family he financially supported year-round. Last fall, the patriarch of the family was allowed a Visa to come to the States with said neighbor. As an interesting aside, the Kenyan is a competitive bodybuilder, and has won quite a few competitions here.
Anyhow, the Kenyan was not allowed to officially work here. But, he may or may not have done jobs for cash... I asked him what he was hoping to accomplish by being here. "I have to get into the system. Once I get a work Visa, the best I can hope for is to work here for 10 years or so. Then I can go back to my family." Guy made <$100 a month in Kenya as a reputable mechanic.
He is a really cool guy. Spoke at least 4 languages, that I know of. Solid human. He was fascinated with much of our culture, one thing being our garage sales. lol
