to all the skinny ***got that were saying that pozdeev have no quads:
Before you say that Dan Green's are bigger: yes, but I somewhat doubt we can use Dan Green as a standard considering he walks at around 270 atm per Bill's statement.Last edited by PanzeR-; 06-12-2014 at 12:48 PM.

Did somebody actually say that? Pretty sure Dan Green has stated at just about every seminar he gives that the reason he added so much Quad work was after seeing Pozdeev's freakish quads when he competed against him in Russia. There's even an article Green wrote somewhere that references it.

Yup. Even went as far as to mention that they felt they had bigger legs than him.
Ya, his legs did seems pretty normal on that 400kg squat video filmed on a potatoe, but i tend to trust Dan Green when he himself mentions it.
Him and belyaev are crazy efficient.... I just wish Belyaev could focus more on powerlifting and had bigger hands (no homo)Best total: 1715 (600-415-700) raw with wraps.

I mean his quads look pretty small to me. Obviously he's stupid strong, so it doesn't matter. Look at the size of his quads to his calves. Again this isn't negative at all, I'm just saying I think they're pretty small compared to a lot of other PLers.
He is a phenomenal puller, but my question is this: Why does he hyperextend his neck near lock-out? I always thought that basically anything that brought your cervical spine out of alignment with the rest of your spine, was a bad thing, from both a performance and durability standpoint.Babyslayer: "I have never seen anyone that has reached their genetic limit. I'm the one who posted a vid of him lifting that's only a few weeks old and said I didn't see what the hype was about. I believe Michael is the guy who said his our bigger. Other people agreed that they didn't look very big, so unless something's changed in a couple weeks I'm sticking to my statement.
Edit can't watch the vid you posted currently."There is no reason to be alive if you can't do DEADLIFT"--Jon Pall Sigmarsson

How do you guys feel about shrugs? Honestly thinking about them for bench assistance. What about adding a little elbow flexion at the top to retract the scaps more and thus do more upper back work? I guess sorta like a standing row if that makes any sense. I think this would also be beneficial for stabilizing my shoulder- I separated my shoulder a year ago and it has permanent structural changes because of this. I feel like strengthening the upper back would minimize any potential negative effect of these changes.

Shrugs are the most mind-numbing exercise in the gym for me, so I don't do them
bigger deadlift = bigger traps

Weirdly enough, I used to be obsessed with upper back development. I'd do a workout like:
135x10 high pulls
225x5 high pulls
275x5 lowish pulls (to bottom of rib cage)
315x5 low pulls (to belly button)
365x5 low pulls
405x3 deadlift, 12 shrugs
455x 3 deadift, 12 shrugs
...and so on, and so on, topping out at 95% of my DL max. I still had tiny traps. Then I started front squatting 3x per week and my traps exploded and my upper back strength is much better. I dropped the shrugs totally and felt like I didn't even notice a difference.
Cliffs: weirdly shrugs did not seem helpful for deadlift or trap development. Front squats did.637/390tng/615 - belt/wraps, best gym lifts.

His quads aren't that big though.
Yes, they're not small, but it's nothing crazy or worth talking about like Dan Green seems to mention all that time. I think that's always been the point. Decent quads, sure, but nothing amazing.
I probably have bigger legs than him, where's my world record deadlift?
He does have good tear drop development, which DG does mention a lot, about it hanging down quite low. But, yes, still nothing "OMG!".Last edited by michael_xyz; 06-12-2014 at 03:23 PM.
