I lost repect for Ronnie Coleman in 2005 after he was defeated by Gustavo in 2005 Mr Olympia, please view the footage from point 11.00 onwards, Ronnie should have been humble and did not respect Gustavo's clear victory.
I gained repsect for Ronnie Coleman in 2006, Ronnie should have got that 9th title and still managed to shake hands with Cutler at the end.

It was GI that made me feel that way! lol.
I just don't like the smack talk. We get it, you're the best in the world, but be humble about it.
I just like Kai's humble approach. Like Kai says deep down he still wants to "rip the guys head off" but the way he presents himself and shows respect both on stage and off is a true 'champ'
Thats just my opinion.Last edited by Deano87; 04-19-2014 at 07:41 PM.

I lose respect for somebody who uses 500 words when 5 are needed to try to come off as intelligent. I also lost respect for him when i saw the video of him being a stripper and publicly letting another guy suck his d. If he's gay, that's cool and all. PDA that far is too much for me.
For ramy, what does language have to do with anything? are you racist? definition of respect: "a feeling of deep admiration for someone or something elicited by their abilities, qualities, or achievements." ramy blowing up so fast is something i respect.Last edited by bartosh; 04-19-2014 at 07:52 PM.

i mean if you think covering the guy's head with a towel in a room filled with other people is private then ok man. but yup that's my problem and i'm not pushing it onto other people. love away, he's inspiring to many and a top bodybuilder. I just dont respect him anymore
edit: actually let me change this. I respect him for his achievements and abilities. I don't admire him anymore. That's better.MS, Computer Science

Gained:
Lee Priest. Always was a great bodybuilder... coming back to the stage after 7 years in one of his best showings? Respect.
Dennis Wolf - Most of us thought Wolf would be in the lower end of the top 6 or even out of the top six last year, no? Let's not forget the whole "Can we stop acting like Wolf is a Contender" thread. A year and a half later after that thread... top 3 at the Olympia, Arnold Classic Champion.
Centopani - Could be bias because he lives a few towns over, but just a ton of respect for him as a bodybuilder and overall person.
Lost:
Bob Chick. Guy just comes off as an IFBB kiss-ass and makes countless cringeworthy statements. ie: "If you stop competing as an amateur you're not retiring you're quitting."
Darrem Charles - One of the best posers ever.. amazing midsection as well, but him saying he's never been Mr Olympia because the judges sit so far back and all they see is size rather than lines and detail is the exact reason he's never been Mr. Olympia... then showing up to the 2009 Olympia in basically off-season because "It interrupted his gains"... yeah
Shawn Ray - AMAZING bodybuilder. As a person... guy's an unbelievable douche.

The Rominator spelled "respect" three different ways and only one of them was correct.
We're dodging more ninjitsu attacks than Flex Wheeler. We're ducking more bullets than George Farah. We're facing more death than a kid leg pressing at Branch Warren's gym.
You can't stop us. You can't hold us back.
IFBB brahs über alles.

Lost respect - Phil (for not acting like a grown up on social media and just generally seeming like a very fake person).
- Shawn Ray (for being the biggest douche out there and insulting numerous pros for no particular reason and costing McMillan a title in Brazil)
- Branch (for laughing at a kid getting crushed on the leg press)
As for gaining respect....I respect all the pros unless they do something to not deserve it, or I should say something that I feel makes them not deserve it.

I just watched GI and I didn't have a problem with anything Phil said honestly. I've gained respect for him 1) for being honest and straightforward with who he is and his goals, 2) for his efforts in giving back and communicating with the community - like on here, and 3) for dealing with his own personal trials and still persevering. I admit I gave him chit for crying at all 3 Olympia wins, but the most recent one was certainly well deserved/warranted. Its a lot to have someone close to you come under hard times - especially in the manner of health and there isn't chit you can do for them but support. He stuck through it and continued with training and bringing his best - albeit the training may have been therapeutic for him.
I like Ced and Wolf as well, probably my two favorites overall physique-wise and for being funny. Everyone else is pretty equal.

In life we only really know a few people. I am going to try to get into you mind and demonstrate it to other posters so you are not misunderstood.
I will put together a suggested respect list based on your requirments of not knowing them.
RESPECTED
1)DPNZ - Your wiser brother
2)DPNZ/FLANGJ SENIOR F + M should be respect
3)FLANGJ COUSINS MAX OF 1st not second or you will not know them.
4)Max of 3 buddies from your education up until whenever that ended. (I only have one mate/respect from 4 years at UNI)
UNRESPECTED
1)Your government
2)Your country
3)Any actor or actress be they NZ or International
4)Friends of friends (real not ********)
5)Any person you do business with in the course of your life be this buying protein powder or coachroach spray or even a new car or bike.
6)Any dead before your birth but famous relatives should not be respected because you did not and could not know them.
7)Good fellow posters in the IFBB section.
