Hey everyone
I'm new to the forum as well as the lifestyle. I'm 6ft 7in and weigh in at a mere 196lbs.
In hs I was chunky and lost roughly 30-40 lbs of fat. In college I began doing crossfit for a solid 6 months (I know it's not popular here but it definitely improved my endurance and overall fitness) but I wasn't seeing the results I wanted...
As an ex chunky guy I still have some left over fat deposits that will NOT go away. My goal is to bulk up/lose the left over fat from nearly 8 years ago.
I have started lifting with a friend and just learning the basics of lifting. For the last month I have been doing a lax version of the paleo diet but am concerned it will hinder gains?
Any insight would be much appreciated. I'm lost/uninformed/new to this so if I'm way off here please let me know; I'm serious about seeing results and want to do this right.
Thanks

would of received more replies if you posted in the Nutrition forum (not adv Nutrition) ..
anyway, there is really no such thing as losing fat and gaining mass, there is also no such thing as low carb and gaining mass. to gain mass you need to eat meals with good fats, carbs and protein. carbs alone does not make you fat, eating excessive amounts of calories than you burn does. want to get bigger without putting on too much fat? you must eat at slight calorie surplus, that includes eating carbs.. IMO you should focus on eating to gain weight while you lift and train heavy.. worry about getting lean after you have some mass to lean.Last edited by ne1; 04-22-2014 at 02:54 AM.
