Hey ladies,
Figure it's worth asking - I have a job interview coming up, and I'm having a tough time finding a suit that fits well. I am shopping for separates, but even then the jackets so far are huge on me once I get one big enough to accommodate my shoulders.
I'm not even that dramatically shaped, so I'm hoping some of you more muscled ladies can give me a tip on where to buy? I'm assuming I'll have to get whatever I buy tailored, but I've been surprised that I haven't found something with a LITTLE more room in the shoulders without swallowing my waist.

Go to Brooks Brothers, find a suit that fits mostly correct and then have them alter it for you. This is what I did, particularly since I have wider shoulders from swimming. They'll ship it to you for free if you ask them as well! You'll pay more in the short run, but they have really, really good suits.

I actually went there last night, and it's definitely a backup plan. No question that they are nice - gorgeous fabric - but I just didn't love any of the styles. I felt totally unfeminine, and I can't stand the thought of spending $700+ on a suit and then feeling blah walking into an interview. It may still be where I end up - I'm going to give myself until Friday to find something else, and if I don't, I'll be going back for that one. But if I can spend a few hundred and feel blah instead...lol.
