See here is where my thought process on that is though.
No matter the blender, After a year or two, It's junk.
I have found that replacing the Magic bullet ($35) once a year no matter what, beats Nutri bullet $100 once a year.

Blendtec blender with 4 ice cubes; 4-5 seconds turns the cubes to snow. Then I add 4-8 ounces of unsweetened almond milk, a scoop of powder, maybe half a cup of Greek yogurt (depends on the smoothie), maybe some extra guar/xanthan gum, maybe some extra sweetener or fruit; then blend it all for another 30-40 seconds. End result is a thick, creamy, fluffy masterpiece that I joyously eat with a spoon every time.
The blender was expensive as hell, but totally worth it--between my wife and I, we've used the thing more than 1000 times in the little over a year we've had it (this particular model gives you a count when it starts up).
Now, whenever I'm traveling or otherwise separated from the blender, I end up missing it almost immediately. Shaken or stirred smoothies are absolutely awful compared to well-blended ones. Even with the same powder, not having the air and snow whipped in just makes it taste wrong.[Log] Prime Nutrition Stack: bbcom.me/1Acr9Pt

I do both every day. Don't have time to cook breakfast so I throw together a shake in the blender with ice cubes and drink on the way to work.
Hand shaken shake an hour-hour and a half prior to the gym as a quick snack.
Usually blend a shake with ice cubes prior to bed if I'm hungry before bed.
Do you that use blenders always use ice cubes or do you sometimes just blend for mixing the powder and water/milk? I haven't used the blender for just mixing the powder and milk yet.Progressive overload + progressive eating = gains. Simple as that!
