Question Is it okay to do seated cable rows?

Hi, I was wondering if it was okay to do seated cable rows instead of other variants. The reason I'm asking is because everyone seem to be doing barbellrows/t-barrows/other ****. Are seated cables less effective?
For the record I don't really have a reason not to do other rows other than being lazy (yeah come at me) and i haven't tried doing the other types. It might be personal but i'd like to know what works best for you and most people.

yea, you cant overload back very well with seated rows ,that be only accessory exercise. if some exercise is more challenging , painful to do , then that means its better for you. to build muscle you need to get out of your comfort zone

Barbell Rows are the best but other rowing execises like seateds, one arm db, t-bars all have their place. Mix it up and do them all from time to time

    That's okay.

Generally speaking, cable rows are less effective for overall (back) development compared to a conventional bent-over barbell row. So yes.

Well, try out all the variations and see which one you like the best. I used to do a lot of pointless exercises like stiff-arm pulldowns, but now I just focus on deadlifts, weighted chin-ups and bent-over barbell rows. I do all of these exercises with a shoulder-width grip.

BB rows? I wouldn't be so confident in the first part of that statement.

OP, seated cable rows are a solid movement and one of the most widely used.
Bodybuilding is 60% training and 50% diet. Yes that adds up to 110%, because that's what you should be giving it. Change the inside, and the physique will follow.

    Why say this?

Other than deadlifts the most important exercise for back is barbell rows imo

    Please prove to me otherwise

In my opinion seated cable rows are the best row for hitting the lower lats and lower traps/rhomboids

I do them at the gym, I prefer them over barbell rows. I also do bent over rows as well though.

Why not do both BB and cable rows?
On back day I do heavy barbell rows with a wide grip, close grip seated rows, widegrip pull-ups, and close grip pulldowns. I feel like it hits the back at all angles

Or, rather you prove why your statement is true. See bolded part.

I read time and time again that if you want a big thick back you gotta do barbell rows. Heavy.
