It's mainly girls who think that. And that's because they value guys who can wheel a lot of girls because it's seen as a sign of quality genetics. Plus, girls have a skewed perception of the difficulty of this sort of thing because if they're even remotely attractive, they're offered sex on the regular from a young age. They don't have to do anything to get it. Even a tall, aesthetic guy risks rejection and has to be the one to make a move and try to escalate things.

But generally speaking, people place a lot of value on sex because biologically it's one of our primary functions as humans, next to survival. Obviously there are exceptions and special circumstances for some older virgins (like maybe you, OP), but generally, if you're an older virgin, there's probably something wrong with you. In my case, I lost my virginity late because even when I was decent looking and had girls showing blatant interest in me, I didn't have the courage to close the deal. That lack of courage? That's one flaw right there.
