PL/SM
I'm looking to get into strongman training and eventually compete, maybe before the end of the year if I can find a close enough comp.
-I'd like some general advice on training including lifting, events, and cardio/conditioning.
-Also any websites/books/other resources you could recommend would be great.
Thanks for those that have already reached out with great info from the fam thread, but it moves so quickly my question can't keep up.
Thanks ahead of time fellas!

I reccomend a normal pl split with an added overhead press day plus a day for events. Rowing machine is great for conditioning as is short crossfit type stuff, anything under 10 minutes. Add in higher rep work often as most events will be for reps instead of max. Nail your technique on events first instead of going super heavy
Squat: 617
Bench: 418
Deadlift: 794
Military press: 330x2
Log press: 374
Snatch: 275
Clean and Jerk: 374

Westside-ish methods tend to work best from what I've seen. Focus on front squat, ohp, and deadlift as your three lifts. For ME, work the implements into your primary variations. Use barbell variations for your secondary assistance movement. Follow that up with your small muscle accessory work. On DE day train your moving events as your primary lift rather than static speed work. For most event work the three variables to be most concerned with are max distance/reps, max speed for fixed distance or reps for time, and max weight...so cycle through those appropriately as you plan your weeks out.

I have three gym days and an event day. I alternate squats and deads weeks to week. I can not do both in the same week as I do not recover enough to train events. Events is a lot of technique.
My advice, find a group to train with.
If you want to get your own stuff, look at a log, farmers handles, yoke and stones.I am not trying to be better than you, just better than myself
