Gf gon come running. Read all 24 pages. Mirin. Looking forward to the kitchen remodel. Plan on doing some myself shortly nothing as awesome but my house was turn key. First house was 1000sq of renovation over 15% roi tax free due to it being my primary for over 2 years, not sure about FL but I wouldn't bother moving. Thoroughly enjoyed it.
Make the basement into an apartment and have the tenants pay your dad back in no time with the possibility of a room m8 on the first level and the rest... profit/man cave.

Hell no. I have no interest whatsoever of having a kid at this point my life, if ever.
IDK brah, I don't really party too much. Where do you live?
lol at the GF comment. It's actually been discussed. She's still in school, but once she graduates and is on the job hunt, the question becomes whether or not she would make Jacksonville her top choice to live in. The thought of living with a GF kinda scares me... I like my independence.

There is simply no other exercise, and certainly no machine, that produces the level of central nervous system activity, improved balance and coordination, skeletal loading and bone density, muscular stimulation and growth, connective tissue stress and strength, psychological demand and toughness, and overall systemic conditioning as the correctly performed full squat.

That hallway has a lowered ceiling. It baffles me that they did that crap in the 70s. Hmm, lets intentionally make a ceiling lower than it has to be. Makes perfect sense!
Eventually I'll raise it to the proper height. That was just one more project I didn't want to take on just yet though. It's also nice to have a extra space in the attic right now for hooking up all the HVAC stuff.
I don't understand why there is a such a big misconception that the entire state of FL is a crime ridden place to live. There are good spots and bad spots just like anywhere else. I feel very safe in my neighborhood. It's filled mostly with old people.
But to answer your question, I'm a gun enthusiast, so I better be expecting you if you decide to pop in ( :

The gym is complete, now that I've finished doing the baseboards, painting shelves, new rod and painting walls in the closet.
Worked on the other closet in the guest bedroom. Can't lay tile in this room until I lay tile in the kitchen, since the bedroom is right off the kitchen.
New front door got installed yesterday. Ran in to an issue with the hardware, apparently we ordered the wrong orientation handles (left vs right) according to the door hardware seller. The contractor who installed my door said I ordered it correctly and that the seller doesn't know what the hell they are talking about. Either way, we needed new handles, so the new stuff has been ordered. Old lock was put on new door for the time being.
Keep in mind, this is unstained. It will look like wood once I stain it. Still undecided about how dark I want to go with it.
Now I can finish laying tile in the foyer.

Havent seen this thread since september when I last replied. Admiring the hard work you put into the house. Looks waaaaay better than before.
I just bought a house as well but wont move in till the 1st july (215k euro's, which is like $250k). Luckily the previous owner took really good care ot property so I won't need to do as much work as you.
You have given me some nice ideas while reading though your progress.
Keep it up with the updates m8!''The fight is won or lost far away from the witnesses, behind the lines, in the gym, and out there on the road; long before I dance under those lights.'' - Muhammad Ali

Haven't been doing too much.
Got all of the foyer tiled and grouted. I also ordered the stain for the front door. Going to attempt it myself.
Organized my garage to some extent. Wanted to see if I could fit my car in there....Success.
And I tiled a bit more in to the guest bathroom (one that I'm currently using) so that my new door can go in.

Not anytime soon. I'm sick of moving so often. It's nice to finally have a "home base". When I do sell, I'm sure I'm going to do very well considering the renovations that are being performed, and the price I paid for the house.
Thanks. It's Behr "natural gray" from the Home Depot.
Also, here is a pic of what I'm hoping my front door color will be. This is the exact stain I ordered, so we'll see.
