I'm not backpedaling for sh-t. I know one Marine vet who is 85 years old and was 2nd wave machine gunner during WWII on Iwo Jima and Guam. You bet your ass that man has seen more horror and decay that 98% of the US. The LAST thing I would ever want or expect to see that man experience is a marine with the flag upside down or a bunch of liberal *******s burning that cloth.

It's not about damn patriotism. It's about class and respect to offending others that have suffered more horror and witnessed things that many haven't. After reading that book I really couldn't ever picture myself protesting or supporting a protest that direspected the actual United States flag. I'm not happy where this country has gone and what people NOW represent. But I have enough class and respect to those before me that saw things I never have to, to respect what the flag meant to them during times of horror and exhaustion.

My grandpa told me that when he was in Honolulu with the Dutch marine corps 55 years ago it always fascinated him and the other marines how proud Americans were about their country and especially their flag, I think its a good thing. People that disrespect their own country need some discipline.

One thing I hate is ppl that are in the military that walk around thinking they need to let everyone know they are in the military, and act like ppl are suppose to fear them. I remember seeing some clown doing this while bouncing and what he did was piss ppl off and made ppl want to fight him. He ended up getting beat up outside the bar by some skinny ass black dude. Me and another bouncer had to help the dude to his feet while his friends set there with a stupid look on their faces not even helping him. Even found out one of his buddies he was with was also in the military and told ppl he deserved.

A soldier jumping on a live grenade to stop his comrade getting blown up is HEROIC just being around is not.

Section 8a of the United States Flag Code states, "The flag should never be displayed with the union down, except as a signal of dire distress in instances of extreme danger to life or property."

I imagine rampant police brutality that ends lives, and from the number of reports recently i'd say rampant, constitutes dire distress and extreme danger to lives. Or at least people could well interpret it as that.

But then again i imagine more people have never read the united states flag code.....

this happened about mile from where I live. The whole protest got out of hand. Not riot level but there were dumbasses blocking the roads that lead to the emergency room of a major hospital so the ambulances couldn't get in. They were laying down in the middle of the highway stopping traffic.

This is stupidity at it's finest. Protesters should not put others in harms way by doing things like this. The flag I couldn't care less about but blocking a hospital is needlessly risking peoples lives.
