Tried every pumpkin beer I could find in the area last year and pumking was the only one I didn't want to drain pour. So many different opinions on that beer.

Pumking tastes more like pumpkin pie and whipped cream to me, as does that sams Jack Fat and the new belgium one... Most others tastes like pumpkin pie spice in shytty beer. But the Screamin Pumpkin is insanely more pumpkin pie with whipped cream than even Pumking.

I don't know how Cigar City handles their distribution, but their limited beers are for Reserve Society. One of my buddies in Austin has a membership and proxy in Tampa, so that's how I get mine.

I'll give you the fact that some pumpkin beers are downright terrible. IMO, Pumpking is one of the worst.

just not a fan of the style at all. Almanac's heirloom pumpkin barleywine was pretty good, but I kept thinkin "damn this would be bomb without all that artificial ass spice"

They never released the canned Screamin last year, but they did design a can for it last year so it is coming.

Dan Rogers is the original creator of the beer that ended up being brewed at MBC. MBC went bankrupt and now he opened griffin claw and is brewing it because it's his recipe.

He's using the same pumpkin artwork on that label too as the original

My impression is that the aroma is Greenshift's best aspect. It has that sweaty armpit thing that somehow appeals to many of us fanatics. The flavor profile just doesn't do it for me. I say it only half in jest that I think my palate may only be able to ascertain up to a certain threshold of IBUs and then its lost on me. Which is the case here. Tastes like super-alcoholic, slightly salty, sorta piney water.

IMO, not Beachwood's best. But their best is awesome.

Just finished a rough draft of a review of their Still Life. Will refine it later. Been months since I updated the blog.

The only place that will have it has set a limit of 1 bottle per person. People go ape shiat for limited releases in Houston.

If you like sweet ass boozey quads, yes.
I liked it, but the $7 for a snifter on draft was plenty. Couldn't justify spending $18 on the bottle. I'm also poverty as fuk, and if I had a real adult job I'd probably have bought one to just age.

I've heard love child is dope though...

Not a sour fan so, I didn't care for Love Child 2 and passed on 3 and 4.

Parabolo is delish and fresh Double Jack 4 wks or younger is tits.

Saison Brett I loved. The bourbon barrel aged stout is good too. Smokestack series or whatever the hell it's called. Pretty decent series.

4peaks brewery by me always puts out a pumkpin porter every year which is pretty good, mostly because i only have drank it off tap

Cherry 2 is on for this weekend, and I can't wait to hoard this beer even if it's half as good as La Vie en Rose.

Shared a bottle with a friend who works at the brewery tonight, and I was pretty disappointed with Detritivore. It tasted nothing like La Vie with blackberries instead of raspberries. I'm not sure if it's a completely different beer or La Vie was accidentally awesome. La Vie was brewed last winter, and we had a particularly cold winter for Texas. Fermentation took 4-5 months for that beer, while picking up great raspberry flavor, whereas Cherry 2 was fermented in 5 days. It's way more sour and less fruit. I had it back to back with a Dogpatch Sour, and it reminded me of Almanac. It's pretty good ...just not what I had hoped to drink. I was expecting a crushable but complex fruited saison.

I'm curious to see if JK can replicate La Vie en Rose since b2 is being made in summer.

Pumking was bottled in July/august last year; this year, the batch was 5/28 but nothing has been released here yet and I'm very close to the brewery. Fukking bullshyt that PA releases it before we do.

Guess Ill just have to keep an eye out.

I kinda wanna grab 4-5 cases and sell those bishes on craigslist lol
