if you're in high school, you should be studying and losing weight by running if necessary. we already have enough stupid kids fighting each other, we don't need to contribute to the problem by making sure they're all getting buff.

Its not only about weight loss, if you read the article, despite being such a bad area. They produce amazing athletes and they deserve a shot at maximizing their potential. If they know they are good enough to go to college and maybe even the pros in their respective sport, they are more likely to dedicate their free time to academics and sports first before any other deterrents. A few dollars by a lot of people is worth giving these kids a shot at a better life their parents couldnt provide for them, maybe they will break the mold, maybe not.

thats exactly how i thought of it, i was hesitant to donate but then i realized i stupidly spend $15 at the bar/chipotle/stuff like that all the time so i just donated it.

Ashley Conrad is a good friend of Bodybuilding.com and she's looking to raise money to help improve these student's lives through fitness. Many of these students come from hard circumstances and the weight room will give them the opportunity to come together and make positive life changes.

Yeah it'd be a shame if they had a proper gymnasium to play around in where they can exercise as an outlet and be indoors doing something productive under the supervision of teachers, adults, athletes, who can be role models for them. Let's just throw them out onto the streets so drug lords and gang leaders can continue to lead them down a dark path instead. Seems like the right way to go.

maybe a weight room can help to change gang signs in their photos into #1 signs when they win state championships in sports and get scholarships to D-1 and D-2 schools

no joke lawyers will use these pics against them in court and even if they are never charged with a crime they can be added to a list of gang members on civil injuctions. it's already happened to other kids from this school and surrounding schiol

they need to squash that chit out right now if they want to stand a chance. you have no idea how many D-1 athletes end up with career-ending injuries or charges because they decided to hang out when they come home over spring break with the wrong affiliates. high school defines your affiliation and active status into adulthood it has to end now.
