First off, no I haven't turned into a crossfit groupie. Now that I have that out of the way...
I started doing some personal training "on the side" again, and I'm currently setting up a small studio in an office building, where my wife leases a group of 4 offices. Because of the environment, I need to limit the noise, within reason. Beyond lining the 16'x16' room with stall mats over the carpeted floor, I'm going to purchase bumper plates to cut down on noise. After a crap load of research, it seems that these plates are the cheapest of the well made plates available. My question is, has anyone used these "One Fit Wonder" plates, and if so, what is your opinion on them?
Edit: Apparently I couldn't spell in the title. Meant Fringesports.com.

The new Rogue Echo series bumper plates are the most affordable quality plate. Bounce is very low, same as the Rogue HG or Pendlay Econ V2 plates. 3 year warranty on them, too. I purchased the 150 kg set, but they come in lbs too.

The long and short is they are identical to the HG plates, but slightly wider. Bounce, finish, inserts, warranty, etc are all the same. I can fit all 150 kg on my bar, with change plates (179 kg in total). If you lift in excess of this, you may consider thinner bumper plates. I deadlift with iron, so no worries.
Edit: (lots of edits today) I'll see about getting a video review of the weights being dropped from overhead done today. Stay tuned...Last edited by cmarti063; 04-03-2014 at 11:01 AM.

I've ordered through Fringe and had a great experience. I ordered a interlocking Troy VTX set. After some email exchange they hooked me up with a custom set and for a nice discount on top. As for the plates I can't help.

Cmarti- Good catch on those Rogue Echos. I'll have to look into those too. The one thing I found with Fringe is that they offer free return shipping on any defective product. That is a big plus. Northernmoris- Good to hear that about Fringe. I had heard good things about their customer support, but I wasn't sure if I would be able to haggle for a discount. I'll send them an email on that, before I look at Rogue. Plus, Fringe has them in stock. Rogue is currently out of stock on the Echo bumpers.
That 150kg thing may be a deal breaker for the Rogues. Fringe claims that the OFW plates are thinner than competitor plates, so that might be something to think about.Last edited by Paulie_G; 04-03-2014 at 11:49 AM.

I have a few of the Rogue HGs. I highly recommend them. I have Rogue color competition plates also, and would've been just as happy with all HGs (and would've saved a ton).
I've also heard great things about RepFitness, but I have no personal experience with their bumpers.Equipment Crew #68, Ivanko Crew #47, Rogue Barbell Club #7, Mech6 Crew #30

For comparison on width (all measurements in inches):
45 lbs, OFW - 2.90, Echo - 3.50, HG - 3.25, Hi-Temp - 3.75
35 lbs, OFW - 2.35, Echo - 3.25, HG - 2.75, Hi-Temp - 3.13
25 lbs, OFW - 1.87, Echo - 2.62, HG - 2.00, Hi-Temp - 2.25
15 lbs, OFW - 1.20, Echo - 1.75, HG - 1.38, Hi-Temp - 1.9
10 lbs, OFW - 1.05, Echo - 1.00, HG - 1.00, Hi-Temp - 1.4
So the Echoes are thinner than Hi-Temp but thicker than HG, with the One Fit Wonder being thinner than the others. On the flip side, the HG have 55 lbs and Echoes have 25 kg options, allowing more total weight than the OFW options.
Finally, the OFW only have a 1 year warranty while the Echoes and HG have a 3 year warranty.

be careful, I know a lot of bumper manufacturers are becoming very difficult to deal with in terms of warranties.
Too many x-fitters claiming warranties over the last few years.Boomer Rep Crew #1

No problem, boss. I will say that I have had nothing but positive experiences with Rogue. Fringe is very quick to respond to email, but that is all the experience I have with them. I understand not wanting to give out discounts, too - usually the smaller companies will give you something like 5% if you have a big blog or Twitter or Instagram, etc, to get their product's name out. I think Rep Fitness does this, or did. Companies quit doing it once they are recognized, though. I dunno, something about all the small companies that popped up just because of crossfit makes me think when the bubble busts that their companies will wither away. I don't think Rogue or MDUSA will have that problem, and they have time tested products and a strong reputation.

I recently had some One Fit Wonder plates but ended up returning them due to the smell. If you plan use them indoors this might be an issue. Now odor is subjective, but these plates smelled very strong and it was not a pleasant odor, not a rubber smell but a chemical odor. I washed them twice and I had them outside for two weeks and it dimininished only slightly. Fringe was great and took them back offering a free exchange or full refund. I also have Pendlay Econ V2 and they are definitely not the same. The Pendlays have a slight rubber smell and after airing them outside for a week they barely smell at all.
