Didn't hit all my goals, but I still had a pretty solid day. Onto a 500 pound squat without wraps.

Also onto learning how to bench, since obviously I can't...

    Good lifts!

where do you find meets in the new england area? I would most likely gone to this if I knew about it

Also why'd you get a red light on the 510 deadlift?

Thank you! I found all meets on powerliftingwatch.com. I know RPS is kinda big around here, so I plan on staying with them for a while.

About the deadlift, one of the side judges (Gene Rychlak) said to me after the lift "watch the drop". I still got the lift, so I just said ok I will. I would've been a little angry if I hadn't been given the lift because I didn't think I dropped it. But it was all good!

Great stuff. Really impressive. Whenever someone at the gym gets excited because they see a 280 lb guy pull over 400 on DL, or squat 365, this is the kind of stuff I point them to. What I do isn't impressive at all, what you do is.

Thank you very much! Although my lifts aren't really that impressive at all compared to most other lifters out there. You just gotta keep working your ass off, that's all you can do.

    nice lifts

saw your comment on not being able to bench.

Looks like your elbow position is way out of wack. Youve got the elbows tucked in way too far and the bar is not in line with the forearm etc. You are almost turning the bench into a jm press or a type of "california press or some type of extension

    Watch this vid

you arent bending your wrists backwards like in the vid but the rest of it applies. Look at your 250 and stop the vid when it is paused on your chest...look how far back of an angle the forearm is laying. You dont want it at an angle to the bar like that, you want it straight up under the bar.

with the amount of tuck you are trying to use, youd have to bench way down on your stomach to make the bar line up with the forearms. You are definitely overdoing the tuck (or are you overdoing the "trying to break the bar?")

Watch this vid and look at how they match the tuck and the bar placement to keep the forearm pretty much vertical when the bar is on the chest

I really appreciate the help. I did notice this after watching it a few times through. Totally overdoing the tuck. I've been working on not tucking as much, and I think it's starting to make a difference. I just need to make it second nature and keep working at it. It'll go up. Thank you very much.

Thank you. I wish I was going to it, I have a couple friends lifting there as well. Unfortunately, I'm in the middle of finals week at school in RI so I can't make it home.

    Good luck!
