he should have went and grabbed it and thrown it in. it's not like it was jammed under and stuck, or out of reach.

he easily grabbed the ball and threw it in. that was a dumbass play by Upton. he gave up on it and assumed the umps would call it a dead ball(when there was no reason considering it wasn't jammed or out of reach).

You're probably right but how many times is that ball called dead? Alot.....

yeah bro just saw it on the jumbo, it was wobbling around under there when he grabbed it. I'll still contest that 9 times out of 10 the ump will call it dead in that position once the player throws his hands up.

I just hate when umpires/refs let the players make the calls for them

Upton just got rewarded for being a lazy *******. That ball was in no way wedged and he fooled the umps into taking a run away from the Nationals. Nationals/Braves games are always finishing 1-0/2-1 so it wouldn't surprise me at all if this game ends 1-0 Braves. Game changer.

It wasn't because you wasted a leadoff double by getting in a rundown after the overturned call? It wasn't Tyler Clippard sh*tting the bed against the Braves when it mattered.....AGAIN? It wasn't the golden boy Harper getting picked off or striking out in the 8th with the game in his hands (actually that whole 8th inning was a choke job)?

Nothing but poor play by the Nationals all around. Even if the call had stood (it shouldn't have), the way you were playing it was a matter of time before you gave it right back in extras.

I didn't say we lost BECAUSE of that run, I said we lost AFTER having a run stolen from us. You know exactly how baseball can be sometimes, and the Braves made some mistakes, too.

If they count that run, it's a totally different game.. and don't be delusional, the full view replay CLEARLY showed that ball wobbling underneath the wall. Showed it in CLEAR view. Showed Upton effortlessly grabbing it to throw it in. Upton just made a fukking dumbass play by ASSUMING it would be called a dead ball when there was virtually no reason for it to be.. and unfortunately the umps bought it.
