the weight is distributed over like what? 1.5 meters so it balances out... why do people still include the bar when you ask how much they bench?

Because the weight of the bar is being lifted. Compare how many repetitions til failure you can do with an empty barbell compared to just doing the motion with your empty hands. I guarantee you can do way more without the barbell.Originally Posted by mishdebish

I don't personally count the bar. But that is because I have designed this highly technical anti-gravity device which makes the bar totally weightless without having any effect on the plates attached to it.
