Can someone please give me a good in-gym aerobic endurance training routine/workout program for improving stamina?

    Stamina for what?
    On the road to 1250

Train consistently, move iron with purpose, eat well, sleep well and achieve.

For running. For example when I run on the treadmill or play football (soccer) I go out of breath and start panting.

    Try doing more running.

Mix distance running with HIIT training on different days of the week.

This works great for me, I've played soccer all through high school and a in college before I joined the army. I'm also about to do a half marathon, marathon, and a spartan race this year. This is the way to go.

Interval training is the way to go! Also have a look into 'tabata protocol.' It's a really intense cardio workout that can be done on a variety of equipment. It's meant to be great for increasing your vo2 max - I did it with burpees and on a rowing machine and it's absolutely killer.
