ok, most of my routine is basically dumbbell work, and i never bother anyone for a spot. the only time i go and ask someone for a spot is when i do a barbell pressing exercise, like close grip bench, so i dont kill myself when i hit failure on my last set, but lately, ill be doing incline bench press with dbs, or db military press, and if my reps start to slow down, or i struggle a little, people always come over and spot me - they act like theyre doing me a favor by "helping" me with the weight, ven though i break my concentration in the middle of my set and say to them, "no, it's ok, i got it", they still do it! wtf is up with that? i mean, its not like i cant handle the weight that im doing, but when you get towards the end of a heavy set, youre gonna struggle a little - i know my limits, and if i need a spot, i will ask for one, but 99% of the time, i do not need/want one. now, im all for helping out some guy who's barbell bench pressing way more than he can handle when he gets stuck at the bottom and cant breathe - hes an idiot, but ill still be the first to run over and help him, but i just wish these damn people would stop worrying about my exercises, take their damn cell phones, and get the hell away from me while im working out!
*end of rant*
