strong this, brb look flat I lost a ton of muscle. Its really hard to lose significant muscle lol. As long as you're not eating like 1k cals every day and keep lifting 3+ times a week you aint gonna lose much. You're gym performance might drop but actual muscle loss is miniscule.

So you barely lose any 'real' muscle in a cut? I've been cutting since Feb 01 and maybe lost a couple of reps on my bench, i could do 225x5 and now i do 225x3 solo. Maybe some other minimal pounds i've lost on a few lifts.
I was about 255 when i started cutting and now i'm around 238. So i've lost about 17 pounds in 2 month's and almost 2 weeks. About 1kg each week (2pounds)

Agree with this. Cutting is an extremely mental game because after like the first week your muscles look flat and you feel depressed as hell and you start looking like you don't even workout. I think that's why I've never dedicated to a cut 100% before. Because the moment I start looking small again I convince myself I need to bulk because I don't have enough muscle mass yet.

I cant speak exactly to how much is lost, but I really believe its exaggerated. I think the way most people in here cut its very minimal. Like your gym performance might drop, but it could be more due to fatigue and low glycogen stores rather than lost muscle tissue. The rate at which you're cutting is fine, as you get leaner you want to taper it back to 1-1.5lbs.
The first couple weeks suck, you look flat, but puffy at the same time. glycogen stores drop yet you still have subcutaneous fat, makes for a discouraging image in the mirror. Just gotta press through it and it starts to fly off.
