    Floor Press vs. Bench Press

    I've been running Westside Conjugate Method for several weeks now. My max effort variation today was the floor press. If you're someone who uses both the floor press and the traditional bench press allowing the bar to touch your chest and extend the arms, how does your 1RM on floor press compare with your 1RM with bench press? Comparison on 3RM and 5RM are fine too. I was just curious.

    i could be wrong, but in my eyes, they are different exercises. i dont think comparing them is fair.

    I was just curious how the weights one would differ for other people between the two lifts. I can floor press more than I bench press even though I have more trouble with lockout than with pressing off my chest. I want to know if this is the same for other people.

    It can. However its a very advanced program that only truly shines when you have advanced enough numbers to have definite weaknesses. Westside is designed to be a custom fit for each person who uses it and is tailored to your individual weaknesses. Most people are better off running a more basic program untill then.

    I don't run a copy and paste Westside program. I choose all my own exercises and variations based on my weak areas. I am not saying I am perfect at it, but it's working so far (as almost anything in the short-term will), but I am going to keep doing it and see how well it works for me.

    My floor press was always a bit more then a paused bench.

    I've never done full on WS but WSSB which worked great for me
