    how important are box squats

    Are they worth it to impliment them in a leg workout?

    problem is that most people do them wrong.

    im a noob PL'er but i think for the greater percentage of raw lifters out there, there is no need for box squats.

    I know that i implemented them when i had some knee injury and i squatted to a box that was high enough not to stimulate the pain in my knee joint.

    depends on the lifter as stated above.

    I've never really felt box squats were very beneficial, however, some people swear by it in their workouts. I think some of it is based on the lifter/personal preference.

    I like performing box squats here and there, but I'd lean towards saying pause squats are a superior auxiliary movement to the squat.

    At age 14 and a squat of 160lbs, absolutely not. Just Squat.

    They are a good tool to use here and there, mostly for short cycles. They are good for building explosive power out of the hole. But especially considering your age, and just starting, just squat. Learn proper form and technique. Leave the box squats for much later.

    I can either box squat or go home but for young raw guys not important at all.

    If you are hurt, they are great. If you aren't then you probably aren't going to see a whole lot of carryover to your squat. Box squats look more like a good deadlift than they do a good squat.
