Injury free, branch was very good. Shame we couldn't have all seen him at his biggest with his thick mass while also being injury free, that would have been a very complete physique and would have placed very well at the major shows (but warranted!)

2009 Branch is one of my favorite physiques ever. That side tri shot is untouchable. Now its sad to see him work so hard and not be able to place well due to injury and genetics.

His form has only got shockin in the last few years. In his first workout dvd he was pressing big weight well. Id love all these HD quality training vids he does now but when he was at his peak, thatd be awesome.

We all know he's gone to **** in the last couple years. But it happens. No need to hate a man for it. I agree, his training is absolutely laughable, and he's paid a huge price for it. But before it took it's toll, he had years that he looked amazing, like the '09 Olympia.

Not a big Branch fan for the obvious reasons already mentioned, but i will always be first to give credit where its due, absolutely sickening chest. Pre injury he had a really good physique, he also looked better with the hair and without the goatee.

    Thanks for pics!

I have been always a Branch Warren fan. Sure, he does has his flaws but people hate on him too much. Probably because it's a "cool" thing to do and people tend to copy each other. Also he looked epic in the beginning of his career.

Always have been a huge fan of his work ethic. There's no doubt about it -- the man trains hard. You've got to give him that.

He's one of those, to me, that did all he could with what he had. Probably not meant to be a top level bodybuilder, but did it anyway.

Some of the younger pics of him I haven't seen before; very impressive!

    Completely wrong.
Branch WITH injuries placed 2nd at the Olympia.
Now imagine if he didn't train like a moron...

Don't be fooled, Branch succeeded in spite of his training, not because of it.

(Also he wasn't lazy and actually got lean)

I may have worded this wrong, not sure. lol

I was more along the lines of getting at with his structure, shape, etc. he wasn't meant to make it to virtually the top of bodybuilding, but he was able to regardless. I guess in my mind, not everyone who competes is meant or capable to be Mr. Olympia or even close to for that matter. The fact that he was 2nd place was damn impressive given his body. Plus the fact that he trained like a moron (which I agree with all things considered) and still was able to be a top competitor speaks volumes for what he was able to achieve. Which to your point, imagine if he didn't train like that. One of those things of how different would things be?

I think any way I say it, it seems like I'm hating on the guy, but I most definitely am not. Did I help my case at all, or no? lol

His structure/shape/mass/insertions/etc. are all actually pretty good. Especially for a white man.

Agree, not everyone has the genetics (or determination) to become Mr. Olympia. Branch's genetics, IMO, are still fairly elite. He gets gifted placings for sure, but some of his placings were legit, such as his 2nd place at the Olympia. No one get's to be the 2nd best bodybuilder in the world without having spectacular genetics, which Branch has.

You're not hating at all man, just being realistic and honest.

So Johnny actually had good leg development at one point?!!!!

I always thought he just had a harder time building them for whatever reason.. Now I'm thinking he has some joint problems or nerve damage that doesn't allow them to grow as well and regress.

Branch has amazing genetics, look at the pictures that I posted:
    Separated muscle
Wide clavicles and a narrow waist
Round muscle bellies everywhere, great back, low calves, amazing chest

Branch's issue was his absolutely retarded way of training, if he didn't have the injuries he had, he definitely could've pushed for the O. You don't take 2nd behind Jay as a teen and at the O with poor genetics, this is just BS propagated by him and people to make him seem like a harder worker.

    I'm agreeing with you.
    "Branch has elite genetics"

He could have beaten Jay IMO.
