yeah just keep an eye out on instagram and see if any new names pop up with work you like. Last year i got in with chris at lowrider for 600. He had been at Lowrider for awhile but was still new in the game.(still is) but i think the days of getting in with artists for 600 bucks per day are over. Im thinking the new minimums are 800-1k
I have done laser removal on a full half sleeve. It is one of the worst pains you can experience. Especially if you have a big piece. However after the 2nd session it wasnt not as painful because the lesser the amount of ink the lesser the pain. I had a good result, i think i did 4 or 5 sessions and you can barely tell I had a tattoo there. I got a good deal but it varies from state to state. Some states that require a Dr to work the laser will run you 5-10k. I had my sessions in a state that did not require a Dr so i believe i paid somewhere between 150-200 per session. Well worth it. I am so happy to not have a poverty japanese style sleeve anymore.

So I just sent my deposit to Chris lee last night. Now I having a difficult time deciding where to put the tattoo. I want it on my right forearm the more I think bout it won't look good when I try to get a job. but also considering my left upper arm or my back. I already have my left forearm done and my right upper arm done and a quarter piece on my back. From a professional aspect will be better to put it on my back? I'm still in college so I'm don't have a career yet.

what up homies,
china, glad to see you in here doing your homework
to comment on Noah's pricing/speed... I'm 5 sessions in, $10.5k (2k/day+100tip each sesh) and to finish would probably take 2 more sessions. My inner bicep all the way to about the center of the back of my tricep is still empty. I also want my hand. I'll probably finish my hand with him and then save that inner bi area for the very distant future. It's just such a big area (no brag) and I'd rather start another project than drop 2-4k on a spot that i'm rarely gonna see.
That said i'm thrilled with how it's come out, and it's helped give me some direction as to what I want in the future for my next piece. I don't know if all tattooists are this way but the time when I'm at Noah's studio is really a type of retreat/vacation. It's inspiring to see someone so immersed and dedicated to their craft, and pushes me to want to reach that level of dedication in my own work. I'm also on the lookout for some up and coming artists who aren't charging an arm and a leg yet.
I'll take some pics for you guys in a bit here
Moth, i fuking LOVE that piece you just got bro!!!Miscin' since 07

hey brahs, got some traditional work done on my stomach. five days later, im developing little bumps, a minor rash on the top half of my tattoo.
My artist used a saniderm wrap and advised to not use any ointments/stuff like that.
I listened to his advice, and replaced the wrap with another, and used an antibacterial soap to clean it when replacing.
should i be worried? its a very small rash, and ive seen alot worse on the internet. what should i do misc? thanks in advance.[Official] San Diego Brah

huh? i can't see a rash? looks fine to me.
i don't know why you re-wrapped it. i thought it was common knowledge that you leave the wrap/clingfilm or whatever on for a few hours max before taking it off and either letting it dry out or using nappy rash cream for a week or 2 whilst it heals. standard procedure.

thanks for the response brah. i rewrapped it because it was leaking fluids, and told me to change it after a couple days. it wasn't like a clingfilm, its like a sanitized bandage that sticks on for days.
its a minimal rash, some little red dots on the perimeter of the tattoo near the panther.
this was my first time doing this kind of tattoo aftercare, no ointments/moisturizer. just wanna take any kind of precaution for possible infections incase it gets worse.[Official] San Diego Brah

seriously, i would not wrap tattoo's after taking the one the tattooist puts on, off. i then just wash it gently with a non-perfumed soap to keep it clean. as i say, i use nappy rash cream, but use it pretty sparingly. i find with mine, if i let them dry a bit more, they tend to heal quicker, i only really use the nappy rash cream because of the itching.

wtf?????
that's terrible advice.
first of all, it has to be able to breathe to heal. second, you should have used aquaphor on it. all that peeling is just inked skin fading the work away layer by layer till it heals. how clean was the tattoo shop/studio? you should not have been leaking pus after getting it done. it should just have been tender and swollen.
i made the same mistake with my first piece, i didn't use aquaphor. it peeled a lot, and looked a lot lighter. my second and third piece i used the ointment, and i actually had minimal peeling. it looks like i just got it done on day one.RIP mainsqueeze530 1991-2013

I believe this Saniderm stuff IS a a breathable wrap designed for doing this - a lot of very good artists (Steve Butcher, Kelly Doty, Phil Wilkinson and Steve Moore to name a couple off my head) seem to be putting people down that route as opposed to traditional healing methods - pretty sure the brah in this thread that has the Monkey King back piece from Steve Moore has used it successfully. I've not used it myself.
Dermalize is a similar idea.

paolo234, don't panic brah doesn't really look too out of the ordinary to me, keep it clean and use a little bit of ointment and you'll be okay. Let us know how it looks once it's healed, love trad work.Last edited by GreyBrah; 10-23-2016 at 06:09 AM.

haha yeah that was me. i'm probably going to send an email depending how I do in draftkings today lmao. I think Josh Hagans style is so fukn sweet. I've seen his colored work healed and damn it looks good. If i find out his rate i'll post in this thread.
I want to finish my right forearm with something by Levi Hilton but i already have two tattoos with ladies and trying to go away from that. Which a lot of levis stuff is ladies/skulls. most bad ass pieces incorporate some kind of lady in them lol. sucks.-BALTIMORE RAVENS-ORIOLES-TCUFOOTBALL-SPURS-

Like I mentioned a page back, I used dermalize for the first time on my most recent piece. it was amazing, and I will try my hardest to only use it in the future. I was completely healed in 5 days, zero care from wrapping to peeling, justavoided contact as much as possible. but could shower and everything without a care (I was paranoid af though lol). Dermalize blocks chit out, but allows the skin to breath. Think about it like this... When applying bandaids, you know how you get pruney after a while? thats because the skin isn't breathing, and isn't allowing for full healing potential. Dermalize, and possibly the saniderm, allow for wounds to heal through breathing and keeping chit out.
That said, not sure if it was a good idea or not to re-apply a bandage? I don't remember what Q said to me, but he did mention something about "pooling" of ink, but I didn't have any issues with that."It won't get better, just different."

For sure man, I've read a lot of positive things about it. Re-applying may be a no-no though like you say.
Only reason I've never used it is I've not had work done by an artist that uses it - Thinking about trying it myself on my next reasonable-sized piece that's in an accessible area and see how I get on, certainly sound like a lot less hassle. I hate healing tattoos.

Thats a beautiful sleeve! I imagine you get lots of attention with a sleeve like that. Did you have second passes on that or all one pass?
Damn ppl making that kinda money in draftkings! i thought that chit was rigged. I need to try it!
I think with those derm things once you put it on you keep it on. My Lil B piece with it healed great but my Abey Alvarez piece did not, i think its because i was not able to get the wrap placed properly and i think air or something got in it I may use it again tho in december for my next piece as long as i can get it on properly. I love the fact that in 5-7 days you are healed with no worrying about messing up clothes and bed

haha it's not that great. fantasy football is literally straight up gambling. I had $300 on the line in multiple contests and just broke even.
$50 10 players top 3 get paid out
$50 3 players first place gets paid ect.
$100 5 players 1st place gets paid.
if you hit on one or two you can make some decent money.-BALTIMORE RAVENS-ORIOLES-TCUFOOTBALL-SPURS-

Thanks man we'll get a full pic from Noah after we finish my hand! two passes on everything except the lion. I remember going in for my second session and feeling dissapointed hearing he wanted to add a second layer to the first piece we started (statuesque) then being blown away by the difference it was making afterwards
