Sup guys. Tony Mancia's assistant finally responded, but he's not taking appointments. Rember and Arlo are also not taking appointments.
I'm looking for a B&G artist who can do a good female face. Similar to the style of Tony Mancia / Jak Connolly. In the US preferably. Anyone have any ideas? I'm fresh out. Will rep.

As someone with a full back from Steve and got around 30 hours of work by him, his pieces really do look that good irl. I booked him earlier in his career and his work ethic was insane. He couldn't stop talking about improving, trying to get better, learning from people like Nikko Hurtado and just being the best realism color artist out.
So happy he made it this big, and I'm proud and fortunate I have work from him.CS Major Crew

sup brahs, just got a half sleeve and i have some aftercare questions
- I accidently left the saran wrap on for about 4-5 hours (fell asleep) should I be worrying?
- Was told to use aquaphor for first two days, then switch to fragrance free lotion (like aveeno) because aquaphor strips the ink - is that confirmed?
- I work in long sleeved shirts 8 hour shifts in a/c, should I tape myself up with saran wrap before heading out to work or just throw the shirt on? I move around a moderate amount

It's fine, just use a very tiny amount of Aquaphor throughout the healing process, don't switch it up. Seriously, use a tiny amount, less than what you think you need, it goes a long way. You're fine wearing what you normally do.
People think tattoo care is rocket science. My buddy got a full sleeve for his first tattoo while we were in the Army. He didn't get to skip out on work or anything, and was right next to me during a 10 miles run two days after he got it. We also went to the field the next four days of that week with no showers and sleeping in a hole.
I climbed Mt. Shasta a couple days after getting one on my inner bicep. Took two days to climb and was quite strenuous. No problem.

Interesting. Matt seems to just want to focus on big pieces these days, and his rates are insanely good. I've had interaction with him and Coen from that shop, and like I mentioned before, I was super bummed by Coen.

Hey guys, I'm sure you get this kind of bullchit all the time so I'm sorry for asking, but I'm totally new to ink.
I'd like to get my first tattoo soon. I want it to be a black dog on the right hand side of my upper back - I'd like something to balance some scars on the left side. I have a few photos of dogs that form the basis of what I'd like but I just don't know anything about the process of turning the idea into an actual picture on my skin.
Does anyone here know who I should be speaking to in London and/or Oxford (UK) to get started? If I do this, I want it done right, and as dumb as it sounds I still trust the misc's judgement even though the empire is crumbling around us. This place was formative for me many years before I even made this account and, even though I don't want the content of the tattoo to reflect the misc, it would be nice to see the tattoo and remember that the rearguard of what this place used to be helped me to make it a reality.Last edited by machiavellist; 12-27-2016 at 07:35 PM.

What do you guys think of getting tattooed with no stencil, no pen, nothing? Just straight on with ink and needle?
A traditional artist I follow has done this a couple of times recently and is looking to do more. A lot of courage from both him and his clients to be honest!
Here's a timelapse of a half-backpiece done in around 3 hours:

I'd like to do it, just so I could say I had haha. Wouldn't exactly be a relaxing experience though I bet.

I like using instagram to find artists. I would look for artists that do work in the style you're interested in. A lot of us here are pretty preferential to realism but there's plenty of other styles. Once you find an artist you like you can do a consultation with them and they'll help you with the actual design and choosing the right image and all that stuff. You could also use inklocations.com to try to find an artist in the UK.
