Hey guys, my names Luis and I'm new to this site. I'm a 19 year old male 5ft 9 weighing in at 240lb's. I'm trying to transform all my fat to muscle but first I want to see if I can lose from 40-50 lbs in one month. I've heard it not healthy but I want to give it a try. Do you guys know what routs could be taken to reach my goal. I'm a noob to all of this. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks in advanced .!

40-50lbs?? whoo? Well honest answer is no and if you could, it would be worthless. Limiting yourself in an impossible time frame is the point where you fail. Make small goals and try achieving them. When you start seeing changes you will understand. It is not about how fast you achieve it, but how well you achieve it.

There is no way you're going to lose that much weight in so little time. Even at the slightest chance you did, what would you learn from dropping so much weight so fast. The point is to take it off at a nice steady pace and learn how to keep it off along the way. Please do yourself a favor and educate yourself on a proper deficit and training program. First off, strong first post.
Your fat isn't an autobot, it doesn't transform. Did you gain 40-50 in one month? If not, then why would you try to lose it that fast? You know it's not healthy but want to give it a try. You're 19, you've plenty time to properly transform your body over a realistic time frame, with results that actually can carry. Lose it that fast and you be heavier than you are now the next month most likely.
Take. Your. Time.
Read. The. Stickies.
Then post on these boards with a goal we can all realisticly help you achieve.Last edited by kureransu; 03-21-2014 at 12:49 PM.

Even if you were 500lbs, 50lbs in one month would be too much. And even if it was possible, you'd lose a great deal of muscle to get there. Muscle takes a lot more effort to build than burning fat, and you burn more calories resting with more muscle. Not to mention, you look much better with muscle than being skinny fat.
Be patient and take it steady and slow. Aim for 1-2lbs a week. You will get there. Make sure you lift and eat adequate amounts of protein(at least .6 to 1.o grams per body weight) to maintain muscle mass.

Lets all be nice to OP, first post...lots of misinformation brought out.
at your weight, you can expect a 2lb loss starting out. There will be a point where you will want to bulk up, but you aren't there yet.
Please take a few hours to read stickies, especially counting calories and macronutrients by emma leigh...you will learn what macros you need and ensure you are in a good caloric deficit.

I'm going to say what everyone is thinking. (don't deny it)
You're a god damn idiot.
Read the stickies if you're confused read them again if you still don't understand read it upside down if you get a nosebleed read it backwards kind of like a japanese comic book if you still can't process the information wait a week for the meanwhile hype yourself up for sticky time when the week ends read it again but through a mic so you could hear yourself surround sound if you can't decipher the codex then make a ****ing thread you.

I appologize if I came came off a bit stupid. I've always been a husky guy and recently about one year ago I started gaining weight pretty damn quick and it got me to the point where I hate dressing up I hate looking at my self in the mirror I can't even see my damn penis.! I'm just tired of being at this weight and tired of seeing my girlfriend slowly lose Intrest in me and just the whole world looking down on me cause I'm a big guy ( damn that was deep). but I have no knowledge as to how to start and what to look for etc... I found this forum and thought I should join to get help from you guys. The question that I asked was a bit retarded haha I do apologize for that. Once again thanks for all you guy's input it really helped I'm gonna study the stickies and get to writing some notes.!

Definitely read those stickies. The info in the stickies does work IF you stick with it and don't give up.
That said, take the advice everyone is giving and don't try to lose too much, too fast. Sure, anyone can lose weight fast, BUT the key is learning to keep it off for good. What good would it do to drop 40-50 lbs only to slap it right back on again? Not much, and all your handwork and effort will be flushed down the drain.
Many of us came here seeking advice on how to lose fat, and many of us made some of the same ill-informed comments and questions that you did (myself included). Just brush it off, and don't let it discourage you.
I don't know you or your schedule, but I have found that dedicating 30 mins or more every single day to reading advice on this forum has helped me quite a bit. Read as much as you can about nutrition, and also read the different threads when people post a question.
Once you have read the following stickies, come back and ask any questions about things you're not sure about.
Threads:
How to lose fat for Noobs
Calorie counting 101
Calculating calories and macronutrients
Lastly, like others have recommended, set obtainable goals. Maybe shoot for something like losing 1 lb in a week (something you can easily achieve…). This will give you something to focus on while you work towards your long term goal. If you don't make your short term goal, no big deal, just set a new one and try for it.
Hope this helps!Total fat lost by following advice in stickies: ~100+ lbs.
