I just noticed that in the 3rd edition of the book, the routine has the bench press and ohp on opposite days than in the original program (which I have been doing every time), like so:
Starting Strength (3rd edition)
A
Squat
Overhead press
Deadlift
B
Squat
Bench press
Power clean
Starting Strength Original Program
A
Squat
Bench
DL
B
Squat
OHP
PC
Why would Rip decide to switch the days?

Probably because the overhead press will take less out of you than the bench press, and likewise, deadlifts will be more fatiguing than power cleans. Basically, due to significantly more weight being used in each case. Therefore, bench + clean makes more sense, as does press + deadlift.
That is my best guess.

Okay here's a relevant question that doesn't deserve it's own thread
I think I would be better off doing it the classic way. The reason being that I have to hang-clean the bar to do OHP (my gym has no rack for OHP) and I find this motion a bit tiring to do right before actual powercleans
Or should I leave it as is?
