RICHMOND, Calif. — A Bay Area woman was asked to cover up while working out at a Richmond gym, after staff members say she was intimidating people with her toned body.
Tiffany Austin said she was excited to get back in shape after recovering from a recent car accident. After her doctor told her it was time to start walking more, she took a tour of the Planet Fitness Gym in Richmond. On Monday she officially joined the gym and was looking forward to her first workout – but that workout lasted a quick 15 minutes.
Austin said things started out well. She hopped on a treadmill, set the speed to slow, put her earbuds in and started walking. She started to notice others staring at her, and quickly grew self-conscious but she kept on walking. That is until a staff-member stopped her.
According to Austin that staff member said, "excuse me we've had some complaints you're intimidating people with your toned body. So can you put on a shirt?”
Are they actually trying to be retards?

I know it is ... my statement was actually serious ... they really dont want people to come more than once or twice a month ... how would they make money at $10 a month if you did.
EDIT I almost feel like buying a membership there and starting to clean and snatch to see how fast I can get thrown out.

In every other gym in the normal world, a lady who recovers from a car accident and tries to get back in shape would be considered inspirational. Not at Planet Fitness. Apparently it's more inspirational to look at obese folks swinging the pink dumbbells.

Intimidating people with your toned body?!!? Oh, my.
I was curious how intimidating she was, so did find this article which includes a video of her (and her infamous outfit).

Looks nice, and nothing scary about her or the outfit either.

I did not see anything wrong with what she was wearing. I guess people were just envious...very sad.

hahaha I love it! My personal trainer (female) was just forced to get a membership at a planet fitness last week due to her previous gym closing down. She's gonna have a chit when she reads this... Repped OP for the laughs im gonna get outta this one. I guess she'll have to stick to wearing the skimpy stuff when she comes to my home to train me

...and the woman who is the subject of the story was not being intimidated by being stared at? It sounds like circle jerk logic on Planet Fitness's part. They don't want the other patrons to be intimidated by someone who is in shape, but it's OK for her to be intimidated. Riiiight, way to go Planet Fitness.
