12k in savings. State pension that probably won't exist when I retire.
In my defense I have an expensive teenage daughter who I receive no support to raise from the other half of her genetical makup.'On many levels, mathematics itself operates as Whiteness. Who gets credit for doing and developing mathematics, who is capable in mathematics, and who is seen as part of the mathematical community is generally viewed as White' - Rochelle Gutierrez, Professor of Mathematics at the University of Illinois.

You'll be fine. Just get out of school and be a dentist. I have to mention you'll still have to be careful with what practice you involve yourself with...a childhood friends dad was a dentist and still had trouble because the business side of his operation wasn't managed with diligence.

30. Not exactly sure but well over 100k. No kids, the wife is a lawyer, and we aren't very flashy, so most of my salary gets invested in some way.
I imagine most of the R/P are going to have their **** together though, even if their job situations aren't great. I have many friends earning $50-80k that rarely have more than $1000 in savings. Very little incentive to save money when you can get such low interest rates I guess.

That's me. I have maybe $1k in my savings, and a $3-4k in my checking. The rest goes into investments which are primarily equities and precious metals. Got about $25 in my 401k, another $20 or so in a Vanguard IRA, and another $20k or so in various investments. Age 26.
