Yep.
Brb Unsolved mysteries episode on daytime TV.
Heres a hint, it's at the bottom of the ocean.
Depends on the RADAR but pretty close. It didn't shadow another plane.
If...IF it did the pilot would need to use his nav/weather avoidance radar which would leave a nice trail of breadcrumbs for our satellites to follow. Wether or not it "shadowed" another plane I doubt the pilot was smart enough to turn off HIS radar besides him not being on a designated flight path or in communication with ATC he would need to rely on it even more.
Don't confuse the onboard beacons/transponders with actual RADARs.Last edited by gatorkunt; 03-17-2014 at 05:07 PM.

didnt a Chinese group claim responsibility for it like the day after? and the authorities dismissed it as not being credible
given the satellite arc and potential flight path, shouldnt they probably go back and double check to make sure it wasnt credible

Does anyone else get the feeling that the passengers are dead but the pilot and/or the hijackers may very well be alive?

True, they have value as being kept as hostages. But, the confusing thing is, why has no one come forward? Usually, terrorists use these events as pressure group tactics (because terrorist organisations are pressure groups) to increase exposure to their cause, its the most effective way of getting their cause known to the wider world. To totally disappear like what is happening right now is nonsensical.
Alternatively, I would not think they have much reason to steal a plane either? Would purpose does this have? It is very unusual to just want to make a plane disappear like that. Terrorists/lone terrorists usually want exposure...

Yes a terrorist group would want exposure, but you've got to think they're enjoying making the world look blind and foolish this whole time. The longer it goes on the bigger the terrorist rouse that was pulled off.

Just had a scary thought, the plane flew behind another plane, thus avoiding being detected on radar. Then they landed the plane in Allah Akbarland. And now they are studying it and reverse engineering it to find weak points and flaws. Then once they decide to unleash their terror, MULTIPLE planes in MULTIPLE countrys are targeted and used as a weapon for terror...Atleast thats what I would do if I was a terrorist and thinking about the big picture. Go big or go home...just sayin..
How come no one is reporting on the plane going up 45k feet really??? Knowing this, in all likelihood the passengers are more than likely dead...Its just too much trouble for whoever is doing this to keep so many people quiet, feed, watch over. Just seems like the right thing to do if your thinking like a terrorist...Just eliminates A LOT of variables and ways your plan could fall through. Combine that with the pressure of evading and not being detected by military and radar, taking out the passengers would be #1.Last edited by VANZFINEST; 03-17-2014 at 05:17 PM.

I agree 100% with everything you're saying.
What scares me is if it is on the ground somewhere and they haven't come forward, what's the game plan? A 777 in the possession of terrorist with countries that may be turning a blind eye or even assisting them is what scares me. We clearly already learned they can't cover shiit on radar.

days go by just leads me to believe now it is indeed in the ocean
was watching the news and they said if it was still on land, they would have had needed 1 mile to land it, a foreign body of govt to help hide it, make sure no one was able to track it once on land, make sure no one sees it flying right before landing (the whole world is looking for it)
its very unlikely for it to be anywhere else dont u guys think? I think it will be found sometime in the future
but then again some people are saying there should be debris floating around if it had crashed in the oceanL.A. LAKERS

I think this is a valid concern but I believe they have wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy easiers ways to learn a planes weakness by simply buying a ticket. Plus most of the information they are looking for is readily available on the web. Not saying it's not the case but it would be a hell of a lot of trouble just to learn your way around the inside of a plan. Actually now that I type that I got to thinking they could use it as a training ground for cockpit assaults and breaches. That's pretty scary.

Terrorists today aren't the hijackers from the 80s that want to use passengers as leverage... they want to inflict death and pain in the name of religion. The death toll is more important. Some men just want to watch the world burn and will use religion as a tool.

While likely true, the terrorists don't really win (for their 'cause' if the world never hears of it). Long are the days where we will entertain bowing to their demands or I'd like to believe. While this is going to sound like the biggest hyprocrytical comment I have ever said and I don't believe in this at all but it's almost one of those things if the governments just handled it on the underground it wouldn't be nearly as much a moral victory. If it crashed, wouldn't they have found floating bodies or some sort of clothes/bags ? I also, agree to the theory that the pilot killed the passengers & crew by flying at high altitude, as otherwise, I would believe the passengers would have sent text messages or even phoned the help line. Now, they clearly didn't have that opportunity. Because if they sent a text message, it would've been delivered on the way plane went down or moved locations. However, what I don't understand then is that, when the plane went back to normal altitude (or landed), the phones of passengers should of had signal. Unless the pilot collected each and every phone while flying and switched it off which doesn't seem likely, unless there were more people involved.
Some success in life comes at such high costs, that failure would be the real 'success'
