I took some time off of the bench for a few months and now I started a couple days ago. However, I decided to start at a lower weight and really focus on form, specifically going down all the way touching my chest. Before I used to stop a couple of inches above it. Now my front delts are sore. Is this normal and should I continue with the full range of motion?

Pretty normal. As the guy above me said, keep with the perfect form. There are rare instances where someone can't go all the way down due to shoulder injuries but this doesn't seem to be you. You took a few months off the bench so this is typically what happens. If you experience "pain" that's when you should worry. Anything chronic is no good.
