Canada, as is the USA, is part of the continent Americas (North-America). So yes, blacks in Canada can be referred to as African-Americans.

Technically aren't all Canadian's "Americans"? They live on the Continent North America. Just like People from Spain, Hungary, Norway, Poland, etc are European because they live in Europe OR how Pakistani's are Asians cuz they live on the continent Asia?
