That's hard to quantify. It's a slippery slope once you include select fire weapons. Where do you draw the arbitrary line? I imagine that this is a substantial part of why current federal limitations are where they are.

I tend to agree that general infantry hardware should be able to be privately owned, but what exactly is general infantry hardware?.. I dunno.

The line is clear as to what a standard infantry platoon has. Their heaviest weapon is going to be an M2 or a 60mm mortar, depending what you consider to be "heavier."
