29 now - I had to stop 'getting drunk' around 26 because i just didn't have time to stay up all night, and waste the next day almost entirely due to a hangover.
As we age our bodies stop being able to break down alcohol at the same rate as when we were younger, yadda yadda the hangover gets worse. We lose our ability to bounce back after getting drunk. These varies with each person, but usually around the mid to late 20s most people will see their bodies start to suffer much more :/
Usually i stay under 4 beers/drinks and i won't wake up with a hangover. I don;'t get the same kinda party drunk anymore, just a buzz, and rarely at that.

I find that after a "sober period", the first night of drinking is the worst. And every night you drink in a row makes it easier and easier, and by day 4/5, your body knows whats coming, and you feel fine in the morning (at least my expeience)
Finished finals yesterday. Drank about 60% of a fifth. Damn, I feel dead right now. Slept til 2 pm after taking 4 ibuprofen at 11am (REALLY felt like death).

No ebrag but when I was 20 could slam a fifth and a 6 pack and would be rocking and rolling the next morning. Felt fine in 10 am classes.
Now? Turned 26 last week. If I have 2-3x16 oz IPAs (let's say 6.5% abv) I feel like chit the next morning if I don't hydrate like a mother phucker the night of. Going out and actually getting drunk? Next day is a total waste.*True Detective Crew*

In college we tried to see how many days in a row we could drink at least 10 drinks in a day.........went 46 days. Towards the end it felt like the ground was moving below me when I would walk......I assume from dehydration. But I always felt good to go.
Fast forward to 35 and I'm wrecked for 3-4 days after 5-6 drinks. Haven't ad a drink in almost two years, just not worth it to feel like crap.Stats:

A few years back my hangovers started to get pretty bad, so I decided to do something about it. A lot of research and personal self studies/experiments...
Turns out the best thing you can do for hangover prevention (if you don't want to stop drinking) is to boost your body's glutathione levels. Glutathione is the key antioxidant in attacking acetaldehyde (acetaldehyde is the ***hole giving you hangovers)
Your body actually produces glutathione on it's own but when you're drinking alcohol it gets severely depleted. Boost your levels before drinking and then party like a rockstar, wake up feeling awesome!
I've had repeated success with this Pre-Drinking Requisite - I take lipo****l glutathione, lipo****l vitamin c, N-Acetyl Cysteine and Alpha Lipoic Acid 30-60 minutes before I plan on drinking booze - All these things boost your glutathione levels.
Post Drinking Requisite - Then when I'm done drinking for the night, I take a couple activated charcoal capsules, drink some water and go to bed.
Awake and have a glass of water with some pink himalayan sea salt in it (1tsp). Brew some coffee, pour it into a blender, add kerrygold butter from grass-fed cows and MCT Oil. Kick back and enjoy your brew that will get rid of any lingering inflammation from drinking alcohol, clear brain fog, give you focused energy with NO late afternoon crash and help burn off all those empty alcohol calories from the night before!
For sure it takes some decent effort, but come on! Keep yourself and that liver healthy - and most of all have fun while doing it!
Cheers!Ryan Jerome

OP it's called kindling and is what eventually kills more alcoholics than anything else.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kindli...ic_withdrawal)
https://www.google.com/search?q=kind...hrome&ie=UTF-8
It gets worse and worse with each bout of withdrawal until a host of health problems begin including eventually panic attacks, high blood pressure, mental illness, seizures, heart attacks, strokes, and ultimately death occur.
Even if you don't get that far downhill, it's a dire warning sign already to you that long-term harmful changes are happening to your body's neurological and endocrine systems.
In other words, stop now and maintain permanent abstinence.Last edited by LukeLissen; 09-26-2018 at 02:00 AM.
