Hmm, might just go see it this weekend.
I am here from the future, it's been 45 years. I tipped my professor and it developed towards groundbreaking research where we discovered the secret of time travel. I recovered my old account to recount the history of the golden age of memes and talk to you about progressing the human race.

lol at the guys who compare this with the first one. The first one was awesome, grt actions scenes, grt dialogues and amazing acting by King leonidas. The lead guy in this movie has a ****ty body, compelled to act and the movie drags too much in the middle. Not to forget there is one fight which is a complete rip off from a game of thrones episode. Not a bad movie, but definitely nothing compared to the first one

I will wait until it comes out on blu-ray or Netflix; I pretty much refuse to spend $40 for two movie tickets, a small popcorn, and two sodas. But I am interested in seeing the movie, and I'm encouraged to read that many people have enjoyed it.

I am probably funnier in real life.
Not really.

Not as iconic, ground-breaking, or testosterone inducing, but I think overall I enjoyed it more. Eva Green is SO FKN HNNNNGGG. That sex scene was hotter than any sex I've had or porn I've seen. seriously. hnnnnggggg.

Saw it last night, was so psyched to see it, huge fan of the first one.
I found it a Lil underwhelming.
The lead guy couldn't carry the film, everything that was good about the first film, all the bad ass'ness is gone in this film.
In the first film Leonardis mocks the greek army for bringing civilians, sculptor, blacksmiths ect.... Well that's what you're watching in this film instead of hard as nails spartans.
No goose bumps moments no memorable lines or scenes.
The series Spartacus was way better and captured the spirit of 300 better than rise of an empire.
It's not a bad film, easily the best use of 3D, but its just not a great film.
It might get better after watching it a few times at home.
But didn't leave the cinema wanting to go to war and feeling I need to start doing more crunches like I did with the first 300!!!

I felt 100% this. kinda feels weird, I could've written that exactly.
my bro and gf said similar stuff. music not as good, not as epic. doesn't pull you in as much. there was better impact/hits in the original. and a better flow with the battle scenes.
I remember my bro joked saying the speeches were basically "were a bunch of farmers" and I lol'd.
the movie is decent. maybe 7/10 where the original was 10/10 to me.

Not as good as the first one in my opinion. Lead actor wasn't very memorable, horse scene was lulzy, Xerxes' transformation was a huge WTF, dialogue wasn't anywhere close to the first one.
Something about all of the major battles being out at sea just didn't appeal to me either. Overall though, still a decent movie but not a great one. Don't regret seeing it in theatres, worth the money after all was said and done. Eva Green's tits helped too.
